Seriously thinking about canceling Flying Fish Reservation

We have a reservation for Thanksgiving Day. Doing the math, I just don't think it's worth 2 TS credits. There's still a few good restaurants available for that day that only require 1 TS credit. We eat pretty good in our city so we're not necessarily dying to try a seafood restaurant while on our WDW vacation. I really was trying to dine somewhere special for T-Day, but hey we're at WDW as a family, it can't get any more special than that.

Any thoughts, ideas? Opposing views regarding the worthiness of using 2 TS credits for a meal here?

Thanks,

NL

We've never been to FF but we did book a reservation for our trip in Sept. From everything I have read about it, I can't wait to try it. It's consistenty gotten great reviews and I do think from what people have said that it is very worth the 2TS. Only you can decide what is right for you.

I would suggest, since your reservation is for Thanksgiving, that you see what else is available BEFORE you cancel. You might cancel then find there's nothing else available. That would be a total bummer .

If you want something a "little less seafood" maybe try for Yachtsman's Steakhouse (it's a 2TS). If you want more traditional Thanksgiving food, Liberty Tree Tavern is just the ticket. ( although I'm not entirely sure you'd be able to get a reservation there at this point, but you never know).

Good luck....and remember what you said... you're at Disney w/ your family. That's what's important !! :goodvibes

Oh yeah, definitely would book another one before cancelling. :)

I actually just switched my Crystal Palace ressie on another day from lunch to breakfast.

I was thinking since Thursday's our last night and I'm sure we'll all be pretty tired, we should eat at our resort (OKW) before heading back out to the MK. We have that Wishes Dessert Party to attend. Olivia's might not be a bad idea.

Absolutely adore FF  I have personally never had a bad meal there and find the service outstanding... the decor is whimsical and very appealing.
Was there a couple of weeks ago and had a mouthwatering piece of swordfish. :cloud9: To me it is definitely worth 2 credits. :thumbsup2

Now having said that, it is the fish which makes this place special to me and for Thanksgiving I'm not sure that's what I would be looking for... so I guess I would suggest changing it for that meal but trying it some other time during your trip.

As others have pointed out, YMMV.

I don't think that any of the signatures are worth burning 2 TS credits on the DDP. The few times we have done the plan, we've paid OOP for any signature meals because you get a better value to credit by using them at the 1TS places.

We love Flying Fish, it is one of our favorite of the restaurants on Disney's dining plans, but we pay OOP because I still don't think it's worth 2TS credits.

Another fan of FF here. I've never had a bad meal there and it's probably my favorite signature restaurant. I love their tomato/mozzarella salad or mussels for appetizers, scallops with risotto or char crusted steak for entrees, and their cheese plate or any of their dessert trios (chocolate or strawberry) for dessert. Yum!!! In fact, I like their char crusted steak better than any of the steaks I've ever had at Yachtsman. I took a very picky eater there this past May and was really surprised at how much she loved her meal.
