Just read online today that they will be closing the Main Street Bakery at MK in January and replacing it with a Starbucks :furious:...is it just me, or is anyone else annoyed by this? I can understand if they put one at DTD, but right on Main Street? Really?

I'm happy! I can't wait. There's a number of threads on the Theme Parks board about it if you want in depth discussions, though. It was announced quite a while ago, it's jut that the details came out this week. DCA already has theirs.

There's one out at DCA, I thought it was nice. It's not your typical Starbucks, it's not even called Starbucks. The just serve Starbucks drinks. It looked very much like the Main Street Bakery.

I've missed the Columbian Blue Mountain coffee that the nescafe (I drink decaf) has replaced. I welcome the arrival of GOOD coffee. Was just on a Busch Garden site and saw they have Starbucks integrated in one of their themed bakeries. WDW will probably keep their theming.

To me, the bakery changed when they no longer made toll house cookies in the window!!! ;-)

All these threads about Disney coffee make me sad.

Doesn't anyone realize that there are carts that serve real coffee in the parks? NOT NesCafe?

Yes, but I think the issue is that Nescafe is so disappointing that everything done to improve coffee is worthwhile. What I don't understand is why anyone thinks that the bakery wouldn't be themed appropriately. On Main Street it will look like Main Street.

I like Starbucks baked goods, but I would guess that the deal will be that Starbucks only provides the coffee and the baked goods will come from Disney just like they always have. And with regard to the coffee there will surely be great improvement.
