Serious DL withdraws

For some reason I go through periods where I think of nothing but DL. I don't know how I can possibley wait another 2 months, 2 weeks and 5 days to get there. I need to go now! I'm getting nothing done at work, I'm just on this board. I'm going through trip reports that I have already gone through. There is something wrong with me...

This year we are going 3 times, maybe 4 because we have ap's. Usually we go once a year. I don't know what I would do if our next trip was in December like it normally is. I might cry.

Does anyone else go through periods like this?

Absolutely - even though I am planning my first DL trip, I get that way with WDW. Last WDW trip (November 2010) DH finally said no more until we have some kids.......so I snuck this DL trip in with Vegas to get my fix.....lol

I have never been to a Disney park before but I have virtual vacationed as long as I can remember, it's sad really. We planned our first trip for Sept. but when I found out DH was getting time off I immediately changed our trip, so now we'll be there in 13 days. I can't imagine how much worse it will be after I've gone.

Right there with you. Last August was going to be our "last trip" until they had finished DCA. But then I won park hopper tickets, so we had a quick anniversary trip, just me and DH. Then I felt guilty that the girls were having withdrawls, so we agreed on a holiday trip at the end of this November. I figured, okay I can handle this, no problem. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I started asking the kids if they would rather go to DL for their birthday than have a party, thinking if they begged Daddy then we could work something out sooner. Well wouldn't you know it, they didn't take the bait. So what did I do? Begged DH to have my birthday there! :rotfl: Looks like I've talked him into getting APs again...woohoo!!!!!

Oh and my parents think I have a serious problem eventhough they are the ones that instilled this obsession. I've chosen to take it to the next level. ;)

Right on board with you too. Last time at DL was in October, went to WDW in February but that just made me want to go back to DL more. In my mind doesn't do it for me (At least MK).

Going to go to Disneyland Paris in July, but for some reason I don't think that will satisfy me. I want to try and get out there next fall if I can. So at least you are going back sooner than me

I SO now how you feel. We did a quick trip down at xmas but it was when they had those torrential downpours and it was really quite a bust. It rained SO hard that it was really hard to enjoy ourselves. Almost all of our dinning ressies were cancelled because they were outdoors things and we didn't get to see any of the parades, fireworks, snow etc because they were also cancelled due to weather. We were all soaked the entire time and even though we were only there for like 3 days 1 day we just gave up and went to the movies at DTD cuz we couldn't take the rain any more LOL.

So we planned a "do over" for this summer and we usually take the kids anyway as a get out of school/summer vacay trip but then my husband got laid off and we had to cancel.

I was SO bummed I couldn't breathe! Not just because of Disney but because everything seemed SO bleak and for the last two months we haven't been able to even RENT a movie much less go anywhere or do anything. But my dh is back to work and some other financial things have worked out for us and then boom I got an e-mail from disney and they are having super rates for the Disney hotels right for the time we were planning to go so I just booked us for a few days at PP in June! I am SO excited not just to be going to my fav place but to be going ANYWHERE!! LOL

I can't wait!!!

Right there with you on the count downs and getting super excited!!!

Love reading all of this! I am glad to hear I am not alone either..I only get to go about once a year..but DH says we need to plan another vacation somewhere else....Guess what I told him? Have fun! I am going to Disneyland...since I plan all the vacations..he finally gave in. I did plan a quick trip to Las Vegas just to pacify him...I just decorated my office in all Disney...next trip is just too far away....

Haha last night at a family dinner they all said they were going to have an intervention for me. Not alone out there! I was upset that we had to move our Disneyland trip so we were no longer able to go to Disney on Ice. My husband reassured me that the daughter would be just fine "settling" on Disneyland instead of Disney on Ice. But I wanted to go to both :sad2:

So grateful for what I have though, we are waaaay fortunate to have family that loves going and in-laws with a DVC membership!

If I do not have a plan in the works, I can't even come on the DIS boards. Commercials make me sad too. We have decided on a date for our next trip for Feb. 2012, so it's safe for me to return to the boards. We plan on doing Disneyworld though, so it will be different.

Oh yes, I totally get this! We have a trip to WDW in two months but our next trip to DL is not until October 2012, it will be our last DL trip before ds goes into the Marines and I am really so bittersweet about this one. It seems like yesterday we did our first trip there when he was about 8.

Anyway, I think its just a tribute to the whole idea of Disneyland which is something built by a daddy for his daughters so that makes it special and worth going through withdrawl for.

BTW, Ap's are so wonderful, I think it was 2005 where we got around 5 trips to DL on ours, I miss those days!

Oh I totally get it.....I had the same thing when we let our APs lapse last year....and then I lost MY job....and then I got my tax refund (a lot more then expected because I was unemployed so long) and BAM we are going....AND talking about getting APs again!!!! I hope we can do it...I so WANT to do it!!!!! lol
