Going Wonder March 4 2004.

Flying in for a quick Wonder-ful cruise.

Thrid cruise, but this time no DH or DS. Just me, DM, DGM, and DA.

How is Serenity Bay?

Is it a long walk/tram? Worried with DM and DGM getting there.

Heard sand is rough. Hows the water/tide? (alway been just to the family beach)

Is the food the same as the 7 day?

Any other great ideas for Disney adults about the island/activties,
please let me know.

Any thing new or must see on the DCL/Wonder? Went last in 2001 0n the Wonder. (Went on the Magic Oct. 2003)

Can't wait to get back on the ship. A month away.

You can take the tram to Serenity Bay. You have to take two, actually - you take the first one to the end, then hop on the second one. If it is really hot and you have a lot to carry, you might want to take the trams, but you can walk, too.

The beach itself is really nice - lots of chairs and loungers. It is very quiet, with mild waves. I like it a lot.

(I can't wait, either - I am leaving 2/22!)

I was just at Serenity Bay on Saturday.
It was absolutely wonderful. There are a lot less people there than at the family beach and it is much more peaceful.
They are quite strict about the 18 and older rule....a couple came on the beach with a baby and they were told they had to go to the family beach.
The travel to and from Serenity Bay is not bad. The first tram ride, a short walk and a second tram ride.
There are tons of chairs and you really don't have to walk too far down the sand to get a chair and an umbrella. The water was quite shallow when I was there but of course that changes with the tide levels.
I really enjoyed my time on Serenity Bay.

Serenity Bay was great. We just paddled out to the ropes and floated back.Plenty of room, very mild waves. There is a breaker off shore. I haven't been on the 7 day, but the lunch at that end of the island was the worst of the trip. I didn't even finish it. But that was just one experience on 1 day.

Serenity Bay was just that - very serene. I couldn't believe how quiet it was compared to the family beach. Enjoy!

HEAVENLY!!!!!

Ahh Timon, I never get tired of looking at your scrapbooks!

How is Serenity Bay?>>
What a great place! It is quieter, little if no crowd, has it's own food line that is less hectic, nice hammocks with umbrellas.

Is it a long walk/tram? >>
The trams run every 10-15 mins. Sometimes it is quicker to walk. But from the ship to the bay..it might be 1/2 mile? Hubby and I walked it just fine. You can also rent the bikes all day and bike there and back. Fun alternative.

Worried with DM and DGM getting there.>>
I assume these are older folks? Take the tram

Heard sand is rough. >>
On the family beach side it can be rougher. I brought "beach shoes" just in case. You can buy them inexspensively at target.

Hows the water/tide? (alway been just to the family beach)>
Very shallow. Clearer than family beach.

Is the food the same as the 7 day?>>
Dunno, going on my first 7 day in July. :)

Have a great trip!

PS..I have the "foot" picture in my scrapbook too! Where did the cool "Serenity" die cut come from? Awesome.

It was quite possibly the most relaxing place I have ever been to on earth. It was "Marvalous Dawling"! You will love it! It is the first time I ever tried snorkeling and accomplished it! First time was somewhere at Disney World several years ago, many years ago, and I almost drowned!! My kids thought I was funny!! Anyhow, here at the Bay I got the hang of it and it was wonderful. The star fish were everywhere that morning and little fish too. I even had a stingray swim with me awhile, so peaceful. I wish I was going again soon, but must wait until 2005! Have a great trip!

CRB#33,

Thank you so much! That's sweet of you to say! I just finished getting caught up in my chronological album and today I started my first layout from my Oct/Nov 2003 WDW trip :)

CACruiser,

Hahaha yeah, gotta love that foot shot huh :) The Serenity Bay title was made by me :teeth: I printed out the title in Word and then cut it out by hand.

Yes there is a spot to rent floaties etc at Serenity Bay.

I picture myself sitting on the beautiful beach at Serenity with my husband and a COCKTAIL.... is there a bar close by?

Sue

Not only is there a bar close by, but there are also servers who walk up and down the beach taking orders, so you can have a frosty & delicious Konk Kooler delivered right to yout chair!
The only thing I wish is that they would up the number of hammocks. There used to be quite a few, but now there are only 3 or 4, so you won't get one unless you are on the first tram.
For extra relaxation, try the beach yoga.
