Serenity Bay Beach changes

But Disney is the one advertising and selling an adults exclusive area not me. Sure I could go to another cruise line but kids are everywhere. I would rather cruise with adults only areas for peace and quiet than not cruise at all.

Exactly.

DH and I decided to try DCL because of the adult exclusive areas they were talking about in the documentation that we found at our Disney resort.

That & the alcohol policy is how I bribed my friends into booking our current cruise this December. We love Disney but we're also in our mid 20's with no kids so you know how that goes lol.

This makes me laugh. I assume you don't want to be around pp's teen. Right?

Though I would also totally understand if you don't want to be around your own.

Kids are kids I get that but teens/tweens are a whole different monster. Hey I was one not too long ago so I know the influence that other teens have on their peers. I don't have kids and I'm at the age (25) that I'm not sure if I want any. Right now I'm willing to pay a whole lot for some adult exclusivity.

In our 30's, no kids by choice... Not much of a drinker but Quiet Cove, Palo and Remy and Serenity Bay is what brings us to DCL.

And if you look at the other lines, they have more issues with kids running amuck in the late evening hours since they all start charging for the use of their kid's clubs after 10pm. *Many* parents don't want to pay the extra fee, so they allow their children to run the ship unsupervised while they go enjoy themselves. DISNEY is the only cruiseline that doesn't ever charge for the use of its kid's clubs (sans nursery) and that has them open from 8/9am until after midnight!

Just because you want to be around your kids doesnt mean that I do. Especially not in an adults exclusive area.

EXACTLY!! Enjoy spending time with your kids in the appropriate family area.
I am not a kid hater. I have 2 of my own. But I raised them...I am past that stage in my life. I am ready for some adult time free of little ones!! And big ones (teens), until they are considered an adult. ;)

I am in my 40's and have 2 adult children, one of which works for the mouse.
But I enjoy my time away from littles and teens. Some teens are fine, but some are quite frankly obnoxious. Unfortunately, we can't discriminate. So it is none, because I am not willing to deal with the obnoxious ones. And the parents of the obnoxious are *often* worse!!! They *usually* created the obnoxious monsters!!! ;)

They have the whole ship minus the few places and two separate beaches to claim. I guess they all need more space......... :sad2:

Just wanted to share the experience from this weekend. The buoys are obvious and just about in line with the sand bar. During the 5 hours I was there on Thursday, the lifeguard went out several times to shoo people back behind the buoys. He was pretty enthusiastic, but maybe he just wanted to show off on the jet ski!

So, are they on the sand bar, in front of it or behind it? I love sitting on the sand bar and am wondering if that is still possible or not.

I think they are on or just beyond the sand bar. When I was there last week I could see the length of chain that holds the largest buoy, the buoy itself wasn't floating because the tide was all the way out at that point.

Interesting... I guess if they are on the sandbar, then I am still fine! Thanks to you and @dcassetta for more detailed information on this!!

we were able to walk on the sandbar for quite a while before hitting the buoys (where we stopped, so we didn't get shoo-ed back in :) ). obviously the water is shallow where you get in, then there was a little while where i couldn't touch bottom and had to swim (i'm 5' 7" or so), and then we hit the sandbar, which we walked on over to the buoy area. there were tons of little fish around the buoys that we spent some time watching.
