I found really good prices (6 nights in a 2 bedroom suite with breakfast for $532!) at this off site hotel/motel and most of the recommendations on Trip Advisor have been favorable but I recently read the following one on TA and was grossed out:

"By the last day, there were mushroom-like fungus plants growing out of the carpet beside the wall which separated the bathroom from the bedroom area- all I can say is we thought it was disgusting that this could happen in a hotel room. I'm just glad we didn't have kids with us or they may have ate the toadstools & been poisoned!"

Don't know if this is an exaggeration or not but it didn't sound good! However most people say it's a great price and location for a motel like atmosphere and not to expect a resort like facility. We'll be at the parks all day and will most likely just use the place for sleeping. But I wanted to get an opinion from a Disney Board member who has stayed here. We won't have a car so I'm also interested in the reliability of the Seralago's shuttle. Thanks!!

My brother and his family stay at Seralago at least a few days of each of their trips to Disney! They have been several times between Christmas and New Years, and this has always been their hotel choice. I visited them at the hotel in Dec 2008, and their room was really nice and clean. I didn't walk around much, but the hotel really seems to be ok.

They are flying in a little late on their next trip, and they've already booked Seralago for their first night! He got a really good price!

Enjoy your stay!!!!

We are planning on staying there 24 Dec-29 Dec. Crazy busy time to visit I know. Just couln't afford the WDW prices that time of year. Paid them once several years ago but can't do it again and get my Aug 2010 and July 2011 trips in too! Really looking forward to this hotel though i t sounds like it will meet our needs. So long as it is clean and safe we are fine!:thumbsup2

We'll be at Seralago in May ~ can't wait! :woohoo:

For anyone planning on staying there, I would recommend that you become a fan of them on Facebook ~ they have special things going on every few weeks where you can win tickets to local places and they keep you updated on any new stuff at the resort. :thumbsup2

Just bumping this back up with a quick review.. Returned recently from a 5 night stay at the Seralago Dec 24-29. Really would have like to have stayed on property just couldnt swing the crazy holiday pricing for 2 rooms there. We arrived at 4:30 PM and checked in. Our room wasn't ready yet so we went out to eat. Came back an hour later and got our room cards. The desk staff was apologetic for not having the room ready at check in time. Everything else was quick and efficient. We booked a two room suite so that we all could share one space and because it was cheaper than booking two rooms. There were seven in our party 4 kids ages 11-16, DH and I and my Mom. The bedroom had two double beds and the living room area had a murphy bed double bed size and a pull out sofa double bed size. The kitchenetter had a microave, dorm size fridge and a cofee maker there was also a small sink and cabinets. Over all the rooms were clean and there were no complaints with house keeping the furniture could use refreshening or replacement. Not bad condidtion just slightly worn. We didn't really have need to interact too much with hotel staff but everyone we ran into was pleasant. Hotel property was well lighted and we felt safe. The hotel was located with in a 10-15 minute trip by car and we could eaily find it at night by the lights from Old Town! Overall it was a pleasant stay. I prefer to be right on property but if it came down to going to WDW and staying off property or not going at all I would have no problem staying here again.

eeyorethegreat ~ we also thought it was definitely worth the cost when we went last May.
I would have no problem booking us there again and will very likely do so this coming June (unless I somehow get a code for 40% off at POR, which is highly unlikely for late June).

We stayed here for a week last January/February and had a wonderful time with our family of five. The staff was pleasant and the hotel itself, while older, was clean and comfortable. We are planning on staying there again this July. Can't beat the price, its safe, and close to the mouse. When I looked into staying onsite it would have cost us almost $5000 more ( family of 8 this time around) than it would to stay offsite. For $5000 I can do more with my kids.

I agree the price is right. It was nice having the suite and kitchenette. I definitely reccoooomend the Seralago.

I stayed a night in between RPR and AKL. My Seralago room was cleaner than both of them! Stayed there before and have no complaints. Not to mention the price:cool1:

Will stay again if I want to fill in a day or more.
Obviously it doesn't have the same feeling of the Disney or Universal resorts, but its soooo budget friendly
