Just looking at prices for Sequoia lodge, and they are around £100 more for a room in the main building, than what we have paid for Cheyenne.

What is the difference, I know nothing about either hotels - is SL much closer to the parks than Cheyenne? I don't really want to be walking too far with a 3 year old! Do you get a hot breakfast? We stayed at HNY last time but can't afford it this trip!

After Christmas we may have enough to upgrade by £100 - should we bother or keep the money for spends?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, the breakfast is the same.

Sequoia lodge is around the lake so it's about 5 minutes closer to the parks.
The main difference's:

SL has a pool.
SL has rooms that have been renovated so are like new.
SL rooms have air conditioning, Cheyenne rooms have a fan.
SL rooms have 2 double beds, Cheyenne rooms have a double and bunk beds.

I personally love the Cheyenne and would rather stay there and spend the extra money on nice meals and souvenirs.

Id upgrade if you can because the rooms look way nicer. I wasnt that keen on the rooms we got in the Cheyenne. Very dark and dreary. I'll know more when we get back in November and let you know exactly what the rooms are like in the SL :thumbsup2

I'd stick to what you've booked. The Cheyanne is way more fun for a 3 year old and lets face it you are only really going to be sleeping in the room and the breakfast is the same. I'd save your £100 for other things. The rooms are fine, clean and comfortable and if you ask for a room near the end of the resort nearest to the parks its hardly any further then the New York!:)

We've stayed at both and to be honest although the Sequoia is lovely my DS loves the theme of the Cheynne and we have just booked to go back in march and he asked to go back to that hotel :-) for us we only sleep at the hotel and so we would rather spend the pennies on food and pressie's  the breakfast at both was cereal - meat - bread- cheese etc which ever you go for i'm sure you'll love it :thumbsup2

Thanks for your responses everyone!

If I request this, and explain why (I have a bad pelvis/back so would like to keep walking to a minimum before we get to the parks) would I be likely to get it?

I'd stick with what you've booked unless you really want a pool. I'd rather spend that £100 on other things! :goodvibes

To minimise walking before the parks we just get the shuttle bus from the Cheyenne. I've never stayed at the SL but we do use the Cheyenne quite a bit so I may be a bit biased here, but from what I know I would choose the Cheyenne over SL any day!

I have stayed in both & I personally choose the Sequoia Lodge over the Cheyenne unless there is a major price difference, but I tend to use the pool. However if the Cheyenne is £100 cheaper then I would stick with that.

Do all the rooms at the Cheyenne have bunks? I'm guessing they'd be way too small for us as DS(17 - 18 next week!!!) is already over 6' and DS(11) is well over 5':scared1:
