What are people's experiences of either the Beaver Creek or Hunter's Grill at the Sequoia Lodge?
We only ate breakfast there but are thinking of trying one of them on our first night when we go again in January. I have checked out the DLP food guide :surfweb: but wondered if anyone here has tried either of them.
Thanks Pam

We ate at the beaver's creek on our first night last year. It was okay but I wouldn't rave about it. The sweet buffet was good though ! :goodvibes

We preferred to eat at the village.

We had dinner on our last night there (can't remember which restaurant though  but it's the one on the left once you've reached the bottom of the stairs ... lol). It made a nice change from burger & chips & sandwiches I guess plus it's not as noisy as the restaurants in the Village but nothing to shout about as Angela has said. DH was looking forward to the "roast" or "grill" section (okay, it must have been the Hunter's Grill then...) but all they had was a thick slab of (very pale looking) ham and sausages.

I think I would've enjoyed another meal at Cafe Mickey or Annette's Diner instead.

We ate twice at the Hunter's grill. It was OK. The first time we had a waiter very friendly, who gave us a little more of grilled meats without asking him of course. The second time the portions looked very small to me (especially if you had a trip to WDW before :rolleyes1 ) and no friendly waiter, the restaurant was empty...
I prefer much more going to the Billy Bob's sallon, the Rainforest café or the Anette's dinner instead (better food, large choice and a lot of fun!)
I also suggest the Silver Spur steakhouse in Frontierland to feel like "the little house upon the prairie" ;)

:wave2:

Forgetfully I can't say in which of the 2 restaurents of the SL we've been to eat dinner. I only know that it was the one on the right side, if you come down the stairs.
It was very busy this evening and we have to wait a long time to be seated though we've made a reservation. When we've been seated on a tiny table between very annoying loud families with their children running around our table and beneath our table and almost hit us. I really love kids but that was too much action. The parents didn't do anything to stop them. A few tables we could see were empty (people were just gone) and i asked the waiter politely to give us another one. uuuu very wrong question!! He stared at us as if we had stolen his wallet. So he finally gave us another table but was kind of cold und rude the whole evening and that was a long evening, because we had to wait more than an hour after getting the first two beverages before the dinner came. We won't go there again. Because the dishes weren't good, too. Practically not maced! We were really disappointed. :sad2:

But i highly recommend the Cap Cod restaurant in the NBC hotel. The food we ate there has always been fantastic! :goodvibes
