Sequoia Lodge? No Thank you.

Thats a shame . We have stayed at Sequoia twice before and had pleasant enough rooms but the furniture has been a bit scrappy -although never had housekeeping problems.
We stayed last week in a lake view montana room in the main building, the room was bigger than before all new bath and bedroom furniture, carpets and house keeping came every day.
We were pleasantly surprised and found this room this time on par with our HNY stay last trip.
sorry you had such a bad experience.

I wonder if the experience is because it is the lodges rather than main building - having only stayed in the main building myself do the lodges have their own staff in them or are you just reliant on the staff in the main buildings? I wonder if the carry on was going on in the main building if they would have been quicker to attend. There is no excuse for it though.

We were in the main building in a Montana room from 24th Dec until 29th like your son and we didn't have any problems. It was very quiet. The room was actually very nice with furniture looking in good condition. Housekeeping was there everyday and very thorough. In fact they always seemed to turn up when we had returned to our room so became a bit of a nuisance (in the nicest possible way). In fact, the staff in the building bent over backwards to help us with some of the things we asked for.

Sorry to hear your sons experience wasn't as good, maybe it a lodge issue???

we stayed in one of the lodges 2 weeks ago, and the only problem we had was housekeeping trying to get in when we didn't want them too. (my boyf was asleep in bed ill, and they wouldn't just give me the clean towels, they insisted they had to come in so i just closed the door on them!)

so i wouldn't have thought it was a lodge issue. but i would have been straight on the phone to reception if we had problems like that no matter where we were staying...

Same here! I'm sure my DH would have found it very amusing - he thought it was hilarious when he read the OP, but I would have been outraged at that sort of behaviour at a family resort. I would have marched over to reception - no doubt about it!:rotfl:
