hi
has anybody stayed in the montana rooms in the sequoia lodge hotel? if so are they better?

also i have been 4 times over the xmas period :earboy2: :earboy2: ,and loved it but it was VERY VERY busy, does anybody know if it is as busy around 12th feb not forgetting it's half term!! i have read some reviews on another website which says mid jan to end march is the least crowded, wondering if this is true???

Jodie, I've never stayed in Sequoia but the main difference seems to be you are part of the main block and therefore do not have to venture outdoors to get to your room :)

You should find it much quieter in February compared to Christmas time :goodvibes

thanks for that cyrano, that was a very quick reply, thanks alot, i hope your right, it makes it sooooo much easier when it's not so crowded!!
thanks jodie x

Jodie, if you have not yet had a look, the Sequoia Lodge link here is worth a look for details about the hotel :)

This is Jody!
I've stayed in Montana rooms and in a regular lodge room, so I can answer your questions...

The room itself is not that different, the only physical difference is the mini-bar, and the rocking chair which come in Montana rooms. The location is the main difference - Montana rooms are in the main lodge. I used to think this did not make that much of a difference, except in bad weather of course, but last year, after staying one night in a lodge room, I saw that being in the main building is a huge difference in atmosphere and 'magic'. I found the lodge depressing and dingy even though inside the room it was practically identical. That said, if you have to pay a huge premium for the Montana room you may find it's really not that worth it. We have always been upgraded to Montana at no charge in the off season, and I'm not sure I'd actually pay more to get one, but then again it depends how much more they are asking.

If you have any more specific questions don't hesitate to ask. I'm leaving one week from today for the Sequoia for the 3rd time! YAY (yup, we have a Montana lakeview this time!!!)

Jodie we are going in June and if I remember correctly it was only £6 extra per room per night for a Montana room although, as Jodyb said, you may well get a free upgrade if it's quiet, like we did last month. I'm pretty sure Feb half-term week will be very busy, remembering previous years but the rest of Jan - March should be quite quiet.
