We have previously visited WDW in June and December and have decided that June is our favourite time to visit - crowd levels, temperature among other things make it a great time of year for us.

Unfortunately we are not able to go in June for our next trip as i am currently training to be a nurse and am at university next summer until the end of July so we are booked to go to AKL for the first two weeks of september.

My question is: How is this time of year different. What can we expect??

We tend to go in September, weather can be very hot, with daily showers that clear as quickly as they came, albeit last September it rained only once when we were there. Crowds tend to be lower as the American holidays come to an end so an early arrival, or close to the park opening time, gives you a great chance of doing all the rides before the crowds do arrive late morning. :thumbsup2

Love september, we got married in disney in sept 2008 and have to say the weather can be great and the low crowds make it better for us, we are only going in oct this year as the twins are only 23 months so thought sept might be a bit hot

We shall return to sept next year i think as the girls will be used to the heat by then

It sounds like it could be very similar to June!!

Whats the atmosphere like off site? One of the reasons we didnt like December as much was the fact that it was dead off property and we are fans of the quirkier places like Old Town in Kissimee which are not the same when its quiet

i much prefer september to june - the crowds are much lower in september...

i'm not an old town person - i prefer celebration...

I love September - it can be hot and sunny, and if it rains, it's still warm!!

The parks are REALLY quiet (although I don't know yet what effect free dining has had on visitor numbers, I'll find out next year!). Still worth getting up early and hitting the parks early, means you can head back to your resort and have some chill time in the afternoons, so if there is a rain shower, you'll miss it.

:thumbsup2

We have been out here for the last 10 days and weather wise it's fantastic been low 90s the whole time!!

Crowds are actually the worst we have ever experienced , our trips in March and November have been no where near this crowded! There is a good atmosphere off site and not the dead only person here feeling of Dec all in all we have enjoyed this trip but the crowds were very unexpected as ppl talk of September being a low month! Hope that helps xxxxx

i guess that's the free dining effect!

so i suppose if i want low crowds i'll have to switch to early november...

I'm probably gonna sound bonkers but i quite like it when it's crowded:confused3 that is as long as it's not heaving. As long as we can do early park openings and fast passes, the excitement of everyone else kinda rubs off on me!!

We always go end of August and then into September and it's awesome. Last year the weather was fantastic, warm and it only rained once in 3 weeks!

The parks were quiet though, I do remember one morning walking through the Epcot back entrance from the Yacht Club hotel and not seeing anyone else! There was one evening in MK where it was absolutely packed though - so maybe it's a bit hit or miss. It was a nice upbeat atmosphere and everywhere was decorated for Halloween already.

I'm currently in the process of booking for the same time 2012. I'd never go in June or July or at Christmas for that matter, I just couldn't cope with it ha ha. I'm going with my sister next year and she is quite subdued too so September is good for us both.
