What are some of the best reasons to go in early september and what are some of the draw backs??? And then your overal opinion. Would you go in september???? Thanks for any and all info!

Pros-
Weather, low crowds, short waits, cheaper hotels

Cons-
Reduced entertainment schedules, refurbs (specifically HM overlay for HMH), shorter hours (offset IMO by little to no waits, though! :) )

One thing to note- the DL Half Marathon is Sept 5th this year. That brings in HUGE crowds, so I'd highly suggest you avoid the days surrounding that if you can. JMHO.

I was there at the end of September last year. It was the best trip I ever had to DLR. It was fantasic weather, the first weekend of Halloweentime, and it wasn't that busy. I had a blast. I am sure Early September would be even quieter (as long as it isnt Labor Day), since there won't be the draw of Halloween.

Good luck

As you can see in my siggie below we have taken both our trips in Sept. I would recommend somewhere around my 2008 dates if you don't care about Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain. They are closed then for holiday overlays. The second set of dates was more crowded (could have just been 2009 compared to 2008) but we also ended on the launch of Halloweentime which made the parks much busier on that last day (and even the days leading up). You do make a big sacrafice with the entertainment schedule and park hours but for us the less wait time makes up for it. Last year it was actually quite hot for Sept (hit the low 90s on 2 of our days) but in 2008 the weather was beautiful. No rain on either trip. Things to be aware of when planning in Sept are: 1) Labor Day, 2) Marathon weekend, 3) conventions (check the anaheim convention center calendar), 4) Homeschooler's week, 5) Halloweentime debut

We tried Sept last year for the first time, DW start working for Revenue Canada 2 years ago so can't do a WDW trip during tax season March to June like in the past. We were very happy, had our best trip ever actually. No lines, small crowds, great weather. And we saved about $1500 with free dining and cheaper rooms. Planned our trip this year for Sept too but went after Labor Day, caught that weekend last time and though crowds were no were as big as Easter or Hollidays in May, we caught both on previous trips, we felt a couple days wait, going on the 9 for 11 days, would allow us to have a much more relaxed trip. Hope this helps :)

Mid-September is awesome! Short lines, fewer people--just overall a wonderful experience.
