:) I am figuring the third week in September shouldn't be to crowded because I am assuming most schools just opened or at the beginning of the school year, anyone gone there at this time, what do you think? Also what is the weather like that time of the month, I was there last December for Christmas and got spoiled with FANTASTIC weather? TIA :)

September is our best month for weather. Warm and sunny.

We went to DL the last week in Sep through the 1st week in Oct in 2005 and the weather was perfect, sunny & warm. We knew the parks would have shortened hours and that shows like the fireworks and fantasmic were only on the weekends and that was fine with us since the trade off was shortened lines. Since it was the beginning of the 50th celebration, the parks were a lot more crowded that I expected in the off-season.But we still had a wonderful trip and we had plenty of time to see and do everything we wanted, including our daily 2pm lounging at the pool while the kids swam

We were there before the 22nd of Sept in '05, and it was nice. That day was incredibly overcast, and was actually chilly, even down in San Diego (my brother blamed me for the weather b/c we live near Seattle), and while that was odd, it also allowed for a big downpour close to park opening, which made everyone go and/or stay home for several hours. :) Park was ours, all ours, until well after noon. OK not really, but that's how it seemed.

Rest of the day was pleasantly sunny, not too much heat, just enough.

Couple things were closed, like Haunted Mansion, but that was OK.

We're going back around that same time, this time for 4 days, this year, so obviously we don't think it's a bad time to go!

Just FYI The Haunted Mansion will be down from Sept 10-27 for the Nightmare makeover
!

may I ask where you got this info? I have been watching the calendar page at the DL site and it doesn't go out that far yet. We are also planning a trip around that time and a caledar of closures would be great!

I got it from one of the refurb sites that was listed in another thread in this chat forum. I'm sorry I don't remember the site.

...we are going from Sept 5-9 and I copied and pasted it in my travel notes to remember.
