September vs October Crowds

OK I know this is early but I have to be in Naples for a conference
Oct 1-3, 2004. I have 2 small kids. Would you go early to Orlando and get value season rates, or wait and do regular season rates because October is better. (Money is not that big of a deal-we can afford both). Any opinions appreciated!
