I’m in the preliminary stages of planning our next family trip to Disney World!! Problem is, I’m so torn on so many things.
We went January 2018 when our son was 22 months, and we are wanting to go again Fall 2020 when our daughter will be about 22-24 months. So background, we don’t like huge crowds or huge lines (January 2018 was wayyyyy busier than we expected and busier than Touring Plans crowd calendar expected). So I was looking at September for lower crowds and possibility of free dining. The biggest problem with September is the heat/rain/Halloween decor. Pros for September would be Free dining, lower crowds, water park, pool day, park hopper plus, no airfare for youngest. Ideally we would be spending 9-10 nights with 8-9 park days for a total of $4500 including stroller rental and flights. But. The. HEAT. Will we be miserable the whole time? We are from south Louisiana so we know serious heat. But do we enjoy heat? Not really. The heat is basically my biggest hang up with September.
On the other hand, I am considering November 11/12-21. The weather would be much cooler, but hopefully not too cold (because I don’t really like freezing either. I’m a room temperature kind of gal). Anyway, the pros would be better weather, Christmas decor instead of Halloween decor, be in Disney for youngest’s 2nd birthday. Cons would be probably no free dining, paying airfare for youngest on the way home, possibly a shorter trip due to being more expensive, larger crowds, no water park or pool, no park hopper. We would probably book everything separately to find cheapest tickets, rooms, etc. this trip would cost well over $5,000 and not include park hopper or water park days.
We would be staying at Pop for either month.
So basically our priorities are crowds, weather, and cost. Typing this out, it seems obvious that September is a better choice, but I just can’t seem to let go of November for the better weather. Any insights on this predicament?! Is September truly brutal heat wise? I’m just so torn.
