EEEEKKK!!!! I have been reading postings about September visits being horrible. I just made reservations for September, have I made a BIG mistake?

We went once in Sept. years ago, and really enjoyed it. It was HOT, but I like hot... no crowds to speak of, yet you could really enjoy the pools and waterparks. It did rain everyday it seemed, around 3 o' clock, but not for any length of time so as to ruin our fun. I see lots of posts about bugs; I don't remember bugs as much as I remember BIG TOADS.

We visited the last 3 times in September as the crowds are drastically reduced and although it rains about every other day it doesn't last long. We are going this year in Sept (18th arrival) and are counting down the days. We're staying at the Polynesian ( our 3rd time).

We went last September and enjoyed it. Of course, our first full day it did NOTHING but rain (Thank you, Hurricane Gordon) but we were staying at WL and there was a TON to do and explore without leaving the building. Every day after that it rained for about an hour in the afternoon. It WAS HOT! But we took our spray bottle and spent the afternoons in the pool, so it was managable. Crowd wise it was also very managable. I suggest EE and E-ticket nights to beat the heat.

Other than the risk of hurricanes I think September is a pretty good time of the year to go!

ohiominnie :p

We always go near the end of Sept - our anniversary - I think it's great. Last year we had PERFECT weather, 2 hrs of rain one day out of 9. It's less crowded, and I don't think it's that hot (I do like hot). We went in July one time and said never again. HOT and masses of people everywhere.

It is very rare that I read anything negative about visiting in September... we are going the last week and can't wait !
The crowds are usually very low, is the best part...
but do expect some rain and HOT weather !
Take advantage of the pools and water parks...Have Fun !!:p

September is actually our favorite time to go. The parks are less crowded, it's much quieter. I kinda like that type of atmosphere. You can actually have a DW vacation and relax a bit (that's hard to say for the rest of the year).

I do know that since it is an off peak time that parks close earlier and there may be more attractions closed for refurbishing. However, there are so many things to do at DW this shouldn't even affect your trip.

It is still hot, but it's hot from May to September anyway and with less crowds it's a little more bearable. However, I do recall a few years ago when we went right after Labor Day it was beautiful (70s and not humid), which is unusual but sometimes possible. I'll never forget that year because we were so used to it being so hot then and it was so nice.

The only downside as has already been mentioned is it is the peak of the tropical season which means this month pretty much has the highest threat of hurricanes, tropical storms and depressions. It seems like everytime we've gone in Sept. there was always some type of storm pondering in the Atlantic deciding if it was going to impact FL or not, but we always got lucky.

We're heading to DW this weekend with FL Play 4 passes, since we won't be able to use all 4 days I'm going to try to talk my dh into going again for a weekend this Sept too!

We will be there this Sept.24-Oct.3 and picked this time because of all the good stuff we've heard about this time of year! We have gone in July(never again!!)in Oct.(it was great weather) and most recently in Nov.(it was unseasonably cold) You run some risks any time of year, but my biggest concern is crowds and they are suppose to be low in Sept. so that's one of the biggest reasons we chose it. Even if it rains, there is still so much to do! Believe me, I will be praying for some good weather!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Just got back from a (too quick) weekend at DW. Since we have the FL resident Play 4 pass and only used 2 days, we plan to go back in Sept to use the other 2 days.

I actually found DW not too crowded this weekend (not talking about MK itself, we went to EPCOT & STUDIOS) and stayed at the Swan. But, very hot. September is still hot, but the sun is not quite as strong in Sept as it is now. (But, I just don't know how people do it in the summer with small children, it's exhausting, even for a few hours in the parks).
