September trips (after the kids go back to school)...

So, after going to DLR during the last week of February the last two years to coincide with our anniversary, I'm thinking about switching it up for 2015. Yes, the husband allows me to go to DLR once a year, if I wish, lol. (He has a whole lot of fun, too!)

Anyway, I may be about to explode by the time I go again, but I'm considering going in September 2015. What weeks in September are best? I'm aiming for that time after kids generally go back to school most places. I am aware there is no "slow season", but we've always gone in the "off season" every time we've went to DLR and prefer it that way. I don't want to get into the closures for holiday overlays, tbh, so I'm guessing the first half of September? I'm also not into Mickey's Halloween party, either, so I definitely don't want to go late or in October and get into that.

IASW has been closed every time we've visited the parks, too, so I'm HOPING that will be open the next time around.

If you have any advice/opinions about visiting that time of the year, please do share. I'd really appreciate it!

A part of me is wanting to fly to Florida and do WDW sometime in the next few years, but with DLR being 4 hours and 15 minutes from where we will, it's a hard sell!

I have been twice in September and I think it is my very favorite time so far. 2010 I went the 18th to 24th and 2013 the 15th to 22nd - so about the 3rd week. Halloween time started but not the parties. HMH and Ghost Galaxy were both up and running. There were lower crowds than I encountered on March, April and May trips. Have a wonderful trip!!!

If you go after the first week (I think it's after Labour Day) the kids are back in school.
HM and SM shut for the Halloween overlays but IASW is still open.

Assuming things stay the same (we still don't know about 2014 - so this is a guess based on what's happened the last few years), I would guess that HM will be down from around the last Monday in August (so probably August 24) and re-open about the second Friday in September (so probably September 11). Space usually goes down from the Monday before the start of HalloweenTime and re-opens on the same day as HMH (so, I would guess September 7 until September 11).
