I know it's early, but has anyone found a good deal on car rental rates out of MCO for September? I'm not finding anything even close to what I'm willing to pay for a mid-size. The cheapest I've found is around $250 for a 7 day rental. I've done WAY better in the past on a 7 day full-size.

TIA! :thumbsup2

I asked this same question earlier this week.
We are going 9/17-9/24. We have a car reserved through Dollar for a total of $202.47 for 8 days which I think is reasonable. We would love be able to use Alamo or National but they are still quite a bit higher. My hope is that once some of the coupons out there expire at the end of June we will see more discounts.

I will post back if I find a deal. :)

Candy0730--maybe we'll see you there; we will be there from 9/15-9/24. Let's hope for mild, rain-free days!

Although we're not renting a car this time, we were there the same week last year. I found the best deal by becoming an Alamo *********** member (they call it something different now). I learned something though--when you put in your information to get the rates, DO NOT put in your flight information. Doing so will result in a higher rate. I guess when the computer knows you're definitely traveling it takes advantage of you. We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for 10 days for $284. I think a full size would have been about $191.

We'll be at POR from 9/14-9/21. Maybe we'll see ya'll there. We'll be the room with all the princess window clings. :cool1:

I will look for the princess window clings. :)
I hope it is a bit cooler than the last few Septembers. I am a member with Alamo - thanks for the tip about not putting in the flight info.

We usually only rent a car for one day during our trip to visit my grandfather in Clearwater. We usually spend $50 for that one day so I figured if we can find a great rate for our entire stay we would go for it. I do enjoy using the buses and not worrying about about getting lost going to the parks but I have read where alot of people say it saves time driving. I am still on the fence about which is the best option for us. I guess the car rental price will decide for us as we get closer to our trip.

Right now I have a rate of $234 for 9/25 to 10/1 with Alamo. That is with a free upgrade (intermediate to a standard which is a full size at MCO) and Insider discount. I am obsessed with checking this rate hoping for a better price, which realistically won't happen until at least a month before my trip and maybe even closer. In May the rates went very low and Sept is a similar month for travel costs so I think we can count on some kind of price drop. In 2008 we had a Malibu(booked as a midsize)for a weekly rate of $77.16, after all fees taxes and discounts $60.92 out the door!!!!!Kept the receipt since it was such an unbelieveable deal!! Here's hoping we all can come close to that!!

I hope we can get a sweet deal like that :wizard: ...I know a few years will make a difference.

That's a seriously SWEET deal! I'd love to get something that low!

I have a standard car for Sept 17-Sept 23 for $282.96 I would love to get it cheaper. We are also members of the "insider club" with Alamo.
