I am not sure if this is the correct board to post this but here goes. I know that this is so far away but I am started to plan out next trip to DW next year. I am torn between going either at the end of September/early October or early December.

We went this year in October and loved MNSSHP, is MVMCP as much fun? Also my family loves to swim, is it too cold in December to swim?

We have been to Disney before to see the decorations but we have never seen the light show or any other special Christmas stuff. I have heard that Christmas is the best time to go, but I just can not decide.

Has anyone been at both times, if so which time do you think is better? Any help/advice you be wonderful.

Thanks :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

If you can go right after labor day, September is good... but also peak month for hurricanes. We had to reschedule last year thanks to Frances & Ivan they came thru around that time.

December good if you can come the first half of the month, too close to the holidays and schools letting out and it would be about the worst time to go. Dec. also is better weather (less humidity usually, maybe even COOL). I did a last minute trip last December and called the day before and got POR for $89...the place was empty. You could always book in Sept and if you later change to Dec, you probably won't have much of a problem if you avoid the holidays.

Good luck!

Just returned from our 2nd trip - 9/25-10/8. Our first trip was last Dec. - 12/11-21. Now planning our next trip for 12/9-16/2006. :flower:

For our Dec. trip, crowds were zilch until school let out on the 17th, then there was a definite increase each day & the 21st at Epcot was awful. Weather was very comfortable, but actually cooler than normal. CM told us that there had been a heat wave the week before we arrived & was in the 80s. We had one night of record breaking cold - 35! :cold: Otherwise the weather was great - no rain at all. We enjoyed MVMCP very much. DD was able to swim since the pool is heated - getting back to the room was a little chilly but that didn't stop her from wanting to swim.

For our Sept/Oct trip, crowds for the Sept week were about the same as the 1st part of our Dec trip. The Oct week was definitely more crowded. We went mainly to collect autographs at MNSSHP, and enjoyed doing that. But the heat & humidity just isn't for me.

That's why we're going back again in Dec. :bounce:

Ditto.

October is pretty crowded compared to September or Early December. Weather in Sept can be STEAMY. December weather can be chilly (one year we had sweatshirts on the entire first week of Dec.)

I think September will be less crowded - more and more people are hitting WDW to see the Christmas decorations. Great airfare can be had in Sept if that is an issue. Free dining this September didn't even up the crowds. Let's hope they offer that deal agian!!!

I would go again in September in a heartbeat.

Have fun!!

Not only are the parks much more beautiful in December decorated for the holidays, but the weather can't be beat. Just got back from our 9/27 - 10/4 trip and it was WAY too hot to enjoy for too long each day. We usually go early Dec. The crowds are better and so is the weather. And I always swim in December....all pools are heated!! Bring a cozy coverup to the pools. :cold:

Both are good times to go.
December has better weather (knock on wood), fewer rehabs and closures, and holiday decorations! Early December has roughly the same crowd conditions as late September.

This year in December the only scheduled closures in all four parks are Liberty Belle Riverboat and Ice Station Cool, plus possibly a few "seasonal" attractions. You just can't beat that! They want to make sure everything possible is open for the holidays.

First time of December - all the holiday decorations are up and the lines are short.

Thanks for all the advice... If anyone else has any advice I would LOVE it, especially about the parties.

I have heard a lot of complaints about MVMCP being sooooo crowded and disappointing.. we absolutley love MNSSHP, the park felt so uncrowded.

Once again any more advice would be great :earboy2: :earboy2:

We've went in September 3 years and December 3 years. I would say early December. The heat was MISERABLE in September this year so I would go with December.
