September/October 2014 Roll Call

Love to hear your experiences with the booking process as well. :)

I'll let you know, though I am only a 30 day out booker as we are offsite. It will be interesting to see what we get ( we have 10 day passes, so I have to go in to MDE on 10 separate days, wish me luck!)

*sighs* we are still a few weeks away. However  thanks to this forum we now have 10 day passess whooohooo.

WendyTJ and husband : Oct 23rd - 2nd Nov DisneyLand

I'm in the same boat Caroline. I looked at the cost of staying on site and decided that it was hard to justify.

If anyone is keeping an eye on Diagon Alley - Gringotts wait time was 40 mins at 6.18 pm Orlando time today. That seems good in comparison to what I've been reading over the summer.

Space Mountain and 7DMT were the longest waits at WDW with 60 and 70 mins respectively at the same time.

We are so excited about visiting Universal, we have been re-watching the Harry Potter movies and re-reading the books recently.

Can we tag along?
Depart Melb October 25th to get our disney fix DLH, HOJOS, DBL TREE return November 10

Oh my less than a week to go, I picked up our meds and med certificates - so annoying you have to carry them in original packaging - they take up so much room. We had a Nanny trial with all the kids and she was really good so that bodes well for leaving the little ones. I am still trying to ignore the fact I'm leaving my little kids behind. So much to do this weekend to get this place organised for her coming. MIL moves in here next Friday. I've set up blogs for the big boys to do. It's all so busy and I feel there is not time to fit everything in but it will happen.

It's great to see there are more to add to the first page. Welcome! :goodvibes

Blonkage, Kiwifan, and Becpee - safe travels! Have an awesome time

Edited: I think the first page is now up to date.

33 days to go! And this weekend is the big reveal when we tell the girls:cool1: Can't wait to see their reaction:banana::banana:

Just requested a quote for our transfer from Seaworld to Canaveral for our cruise, just need to organise a hire care for a few days for our WDW stay and we are all set!

How is everyone else going? Is there some soft packing or even hard packing going on? I have a whole heap of new clothes for the girls to give them on Saturday when we tell them. I need them to try everything on:lmao: and once I've found out if it fits it will all be packed ready to go!

How exciting! I have started packing, one case done, two to go

How exciting! Make sure you get a video of you telling the kids :)

42 days for us, and I'm getting pretty excited too :D No packing here yet, but lots of pre-trip buying. No one had suitable walking-all-day-at-Disney shoes, so we all got new ones, just waiting on DD's to arrive and we'll be ready to pack.

I'm looking forward to hearing how they react.

2 weeks to go for me and I haven't even got the suitcases down from up in the roof yet. I suppose I should start thinking about packing this weekend. If I don't start throwing things into a suitcase as I think of them, I'm bound to forget something.

I think we are pretty much packed, just sorting the house for MIL to move in. Getting very teary over the idea of leaving the little ones but it will be ok.

I'd love to hear about their reactions too :)

Sounds like your plans are all set.

No packing going on here yet.

Well for our Christmas Europe trip, I have a packing list and have been planning for ages. But, for our whirlwind U.S. trip, as long as I've got our clothes for the wedding packed, I'll just be getting everyone to work out what they want to wear on the plane and then to each chuck a couple of shorts and T's into the suitcase. This will be the trip that I have spent the least time packing/planning for ever!!

Just booked my first days AK FP+ and got everything I wanted at the times that work for us! :yay:

Thanks for the advice to grab their first offer and then amend. It was so simple to do and they are all showing in my MDE reservations.

Can't wait for tomorrow afternoon when I can do my MK FP+ bookings! :woohoo:

There is a school of thought that thinks that if you're hopping, you might be better to book your FP+ for your second park.
You would then get to the first park early and get in the stand-by lanes for the big rides first up.
That way, you won't necessarily be contending with longer stand-by queues in the afternoon.

Hi PIO, sorry I missed your post in my last visit (put it down to too much excitement! :rotfl:)

I did look at that option of using them in the afternoon, however we were more comfortable knowing that we had the "big ones" locked away early to give us additional flexibility in the afternoons.

I've loaded the apps and if need be we'll book 4th etc FP+ once we finish the mornings while on the move in the parks if it looks like they are needed.

I know this means that we might miss out on headliners in other parks for the afternoon, but we've got time with extra days to "top up" if we need. Plus if we book an extra late FP+ in a park, I'm sure we can always "kill time" at the Food & Wine festival waiting for it to roll around! ;)

I have 3 days of Fastpasses booked so far, for Epcot, MK and AK. No Mine Train (no surprises), but I'll keep checking. We have 10 day passes so will assign 5 of those to MK ( 2-3 will be evenings only), 2 to Epcot, 2 to HS and 1 to AK.

Are you at AK on Sat Oct 11th? We will be too, then back to MK for the evening on Sun 12th.

Snap Caroline! Yep, AK on the Saturday and then heading for MK on the Sunday.

I should be easy to spot: I'll be the one with the Aussie accent saying "no, you can't have another donut" to the 44 yr old boy with me! :rotfl:

We arrive via Dallas on Friday the 10th, so hoping that we won't be too jet lagged.
