We booked and paid for an OGT rate today for the cruise really wanted a VGT but with the falling $ I wasn't prepared to risk it any longer it's all beginning to feel a bit more real now

I've got my tickets for the party at WDW. So looking forward to it.

that's fantastic it's so much fun just remember to get your pictures with the 7 dwarfs early DH was quite annoyed when he missed out last year

I agree. The kiwi dollar is the dropping also and it's so hard to know what to do.

On Saturday, I prepaid my cruise gratuities and put enough OBC onto my account to cover my drinks for the cruise. It'll be the lowest exchange rate I've encountered since I started booking this holiday about 8 months ago, but I'm worried it'll just keep getting worse.

On the good side, many of us are now under the 4 month mark. It's definitely starting to feel like we're on the downward slide.

Panama canal 14 night DCL we knew we were doing it but we're impatiently waiting for the GT rates to come out and I am so glad we booked as the OGT rate is now gone and as of yet the VGT hasnt appeared my nerves would of been frazzled by now

Oh, I was selfishly hoping they would start the parties super-early this year, but I didn't actually think we'd be there for one. Still, it would have been fun. Another time

DH is off to buy some currency on Wednesday, so fingers crossed we don't see a major dive between now and then. I keep pushing the purchase of my passport (renewal) and DL tickets further and further back. Best not be pushing them too much further or it'll be too late!

while in LA we are staying at HOJO's for our entire time.

Hello! Glad to find this thread! Our next trip is at the end of October, back to Disney Aulani for my DD 7th birthday. She is very spoilt, I never went to Disney let alone overseas until I was an adult and this will be my kids 4th Disney experience - I'm not complaining, I never grew up myself

Welcome! We will be at Hojos from September 20th til the 30th (sounds like there will be quite a large aussie contingent there at the same time!)

When did you go in 2011? We were there in September/October and loved it so much, we are doing it all again! Well, the main reason is that Carsland was just being built then, and DS is desperate to see it all finished.

Meemoo, I know what you mean about spoilt kids! We took DS to DL for his 5th birthday and we will be there again this year for his birthday (turning 7). The joys of having an only child I guess And he is already talking about going to WDW for his 9th birthday! (I think he will be disappointed with that one, because we are talking about going a couple of months later and combining it instead with Christmas, NYE and our 10th wedding anniversary).

Hi ozmum and meemoo . We'll be at hojos from the 22nd to 30th, so there definitely looks like there will be a few of us there.

With the drop in the dollar dh has finally decided to listen to me and buy some US currency and our go San Diego cards. I wish he listened to me and thought of doing it when the dollar was sittings round 1.05. Oh well at least it's better than the 0.55 last time that we were there.

And we're now officially in double digits....99 days until we leave.

Travel-wise, my son is going to grow up a bit spoilt too. I think that because my DH and I are both full-time working parents and don't spend as much time as a family as we'd like, we try to compensate by making family-time extra special.
My obsession with seeing the world might come in to it a bit as well

wanderlustnz - our family is the same as ours, both dh & I work full time so we try and go overseas for a big holiday every year.
This will be our 5th trip to hawaii and in 2011 it included La / disneyland as well.
while we are in vegas we are staying at planet hollywood. we really wanted MGM but left it too late and there was no accommodation left, oh well fingers crossed planet hollywood will be ok.

kristin5 - we were there at the same time of year end of september in 2011 and loved it so much we are doing it again and ofcourse we all are looking foward to carsland. we could see it being built while on the ferris wheel. pity it wasnt built in 2011 as DS was cars made, but im sure he will still enjoy it being a 8 year old boy.


sounds like there will be a few of us at HOJO's at the same time.

any tips on transfers from LAX to anaheim ??
last time we used speedi shuttles and let me just say it was a scary ride both ways. even DH was a bit scared so thats saying something.
