September FL Resident Rates

How do FL resident rates work? Can you get them for what you've already booked?

Sweet Sue

Yes, last year we had a Cat 3 suite booked for a four night when the FL resident rates came out. We were a party of five booked in a Cat 3 for approx. $4800. When the FL resident rates arrived they did not include suites SO we downgraded ( ;) ) to two Cat 5 connecting staterooms for a total of $2800. Saved us $2000 and we got two rooms. It would have been nice to have the Cat 3 but when the hurricane hit I was glad I had not splurged for that particular cruise.

just call your TA or DCL if that is where your reservation is with.

THANKS! For some reason I thought DCL would balk. Not at all! I saved $1000!   Had to move people around between our cabins to get an adult FL resident into the second cabin, but the whole process only took about 5 minutes!

THANKS for the info!!!

We are Florida residents booked on a three night cruise did I miss a FL Res rate or have these only been offered on the 7 night sailings?

So far only 7 nights have been announced....Hopefully they do come out, and you can save...$$$ :goodvibes

Where can I read up on Florida resident rates. Do all individuals in the cabin have to live in Florida?

I can think of 2 scenarios:

1. My parents want to take the grandkids. The grand kids don't live in Florida. Grandparents do live in Florida. Can the 4 of them go under Florida rates?

2. If my mom and I want to go....she wants to pay....I don't live in Florida. Can she book a cabin under her name with Florida rates?

Thanks for any clarification.

One person in each cabin booked has to be a Florida resident, so YEs they could take the kids..

OR, book two rooms, with one of them in each one, and you guys mixed up among them..Everyone pays the FLorida rate..

allseastravel.com is a great place, and you can sign up for emails alerting you to the rates...

HTH :goodvibes

Oh no!!!! That means we might be doing a whole lot more cruising!!

YIPPEEE!! I had no idea!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Anyone who has used FL rates before - do they generally come out in the fall months or various months - depending on how filled the ship is?

I got upgraded and saved a lot back last sept. and for the Jan cruise again upgrade and savings.
However I'm bummed that only the 7 day was reduced and not my 3 day.
You never know when they will release the frr.

I called Disney today and they told me that August 21 a 4 night cruise has FRR. Only problem is that is only for parties of 2 & 3 (I think). There is also a few 3 nights open too. Allseastravel has it posted now if you wanna check it out. Still waiting for those 4 night September trips!!! :cool1:

They are killing me, I can not believe they came out with so few August rates, just go ahead and do the Sept ones all ready!!!!!

Logically, I would assume FL Res rates for September are not too far behind....afterall, August is a far more popular month for cruising than September....Looking at FL rates on AllSeas, I could get a cat 8 for the same cost as my cat 11 I am currently reserved for.....
