September Crowds?

What are the crowds like during post-Labor Day September? Are the lines typically very short? What about weekends in September?

Thanks for your help!

I have been twice in September and both times I have found the lines to be very short. There is a little bit of pick-up on the weekends which I attributed to locals coming in for a day.

We were there last Sept, after the threat of the hurricanes, and it was wonderful. We were able to walk right on most of the rides. The last Saturday we were there it did began to get somewhat crowded. We have planned our trip this year for the Sunday before Labor Day ( I'm expecting a crowd) through the following weekend.

I have to agree with the previous posters. Granted, it's been a while (Sept. 1998), but we were there the last 10 days of the month. We had to worry a little about hurricane George the firs couple days, and he did spit some rain our way, but the parks were always great. Very short waits at nearly every thing. Dumbo was naturally the longest wait, but there was no way our 4-year-old was going to miss that ride! Probably the longest line we waited in that entire trip was the line at the Alamo rental counter! Except for the fact it's still in peak hurricane season, September is a great time to go!

We used to go in September all the time, until our boys got older and it was more difficult to take them out of school. The lines were so short that we could go on everything we wanted, even with the shorter hours... :flower:

If you can handle the stress of dodging hurricanes, it's an awesome time to go!

We were there right after Hurricane Frances in 2004, and it was deserted. Our first park day was the Wednesday after Labor Day, and we arrived at the MK at opening. We were the only family on Dumbo for 3 consecutive "flights"! We rode everything we wanted to ride (multiple times) in under 4 hours.

The Saturday after Labor Day was a little more crowded. The Night of Joy concerts were taking place, but even with the special event & it being Saturday, there was only a 10 minute wait for Splash Mtn & Big Thunder Mtn.

Be prepared for some rain showers in September, too.

Very low crowds the 2x we have been there in Sept. Of course, one of the Sept visits was Sept 17, 2001. Just after 9/11 and the parks were almost empty. We are going back this Sept 22-25.

We were there at the end of Sept. Just after Hurricane Jeanne. No crowds or lines. In fact FP was not even running on lots of attractions. You didn't need it. Almost everything was a walk on. And this was during any time of day since we were there at all different hours. But boy was it hot & humid!! We didn't even get the normal afternoon daily rain at all!! I will try to go in Sept until the kids get into middle school!! Now I am spoiled by low crowds!
Oh yeah, another bonus - it was very easy to get ressies to CRT & PSB 90 days out! I had no problems at all.
