September Crowds...

Hi all!

Ok, so last year we went in November because all the crowd calendars will tell you that November has lower crowds, but still allows you to attend the MVMCP. We found those crowd calendars to be absolutely false. Not only were the crowds high, but worse than any other time we visited before. Even the cast members couldn't believe how bad the crowds were. This applied to all the parks, not just Magic Kingdom.

So to my question...Has anyone gone last September and how were the crowds? You look at the crowd calendars and it would appear that it's one of the best times to visit WDW. However, looking at the comments to those crowd calendars tell a different story. It seems those that attended WDW last September were reporting large crowds.

Thanks.

DW and I have been in September on a couple of trips. The crowd levels were very low. However, those two trips were some years ago before they started offering the free dining deal.

Crowds are up all year round and are very subjective. Josh at easy wdw has stated the crowd ratings are relative. A 5 crowd level 3 years ago is not the same as a 5 crowd level this year. A 5 this year is more crowded than the 5 was 3 years ago.
September is still a relatively slow period of time. But more crowded than it used to be.

September is the last line of defense against big crowds.

If you're going to find low crowds, September is where you will find them.

I would choose the second week of the month though, since that's when the schools starting school after Labor Day will be back in session.

Later in the month you'll have F/W starting and that starts to build up more crowds. Still not terrible, but more than earlier in the month.

We went the 3rd week of September last year, 2014. Magic Kingdom was PACKED. However, the other parks were very low crowds, including Epcot for the most part, in spite of the start of Food and Wine. Of course, we were there during the week not a weekend, and we heard Epcot would pick up more crowds as the weekend rolled in.

Something else to keep in mind is that 2 people visiting WDW the same week can have entirely different experiences.

If hard ticket parties have started when you go, and you only visit the MK on non-party days, you will declare that the park was crazy crowded. If you only go on party days, you will declare it the best time of the year to go for low crowds.
