We are thinking of going the week of Labor day or the at the end of Sept. How are the crowds Labor day week? Is it just crowded on Labor Day or the week following? Also, at the end of Sept is DisneyWorld Triathalon. It is the weekend of 9/22-9/24. If we go at the end of Sept we would be there from 9/22-9/29. Does anyone know if this brings in crowds?

I know that Labor Day is often the busiest day of the year, but I don't know about the week following. I have never been there during the triathlon, but I understand that it mainly just effects Fort Wilderness.

We usually go at the end of Sept, & this is one of my favorite times to go

hey - i am going to bump this one 'cause i want to know too. i am thinking of going for 2-3 weeks that would stretch between the last week of Aug, Labor Day and the week after.

any week after feedback?

oh - by the way OP, we have been there at the end of sept for the marathon, and didn't notice much in the way of crowds. quite pleasant.

As far as I know, it is important to try and avoid right up until labor day. LAst year I went the day after labor for a 10 day stay. It was DEAD...which was GOOD :) I will say this...it was hotter than heck....UGH. Just be prepared for that. I'm going to miss these Fall and Winter months at the parks.

I went from Sept 15-22 this past year and it was amazing. It was hot still, don't forget that. The crowds were minimal. Me and DBF walked on most rides. We walked on ToT, RnR, Space Mountain (many times), Buzz Lightyear, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and many more. The longest line we waited on was 15-20 minutes for Living with the Land. We used a fastpass for Soarin' and really didn't need to. I don't know about the wait for the safari in AK because we rode that during the morning EMH.

September is an excellent month to go if you don't mind that it is still hot out. I am also not kidding when I say we walked on the rides, they had no lines. The evening EMH in MK was kind of busy but really not terrible. We only used that to ride some rides at night. I think it was totally worth going in September. Also, it's value season! Nothing wrong with saving money. :goodvibes

Our experience was the same as BeNJeNWaFFLe. The crowds are extremely small. And that is good, because of the heat. This time more than any other you really need a break sometime between 12-4. If you get up early and do the EMH park, or at least opening of a non EMH park then go for a swim and rest in the afternoon you will be able to go back out about 4PM and have a lovely evening.

Labor Day itself is busy, but not after.

Twice, I have traveled to WDW on Labor Day. We spent the rest of the week in the parks with very little crowd. It was wonderful and would do it again. It is lplenty hot, and we did have a little rain to deal with, but the low crowds were worth it.

Do you think the last week of Sept is even just a little bit cooler than Aug? We went last aug and boy was it hot. I was hoping that the very end of Sept might be a bit cooler.

Last year we arrived on Labor Day and left the following Sunday, September 5-12. It was great. We stayed in the CR and there was one other family on our floor when we checked in. The parking lot was only 1/4 full. When we got on the monorail in the morning, there was at most 3-4 other families getting on at the CR.

We are morning people and it was easy to get on the rides we wanted. The biggest line we saw, were the people trying to get Mickeys autograph when you enter the MK.

The only thing I would change was for us to travel on Sunday and tour the parks on Monday also. Also, MK has early hours on the Friday and Saturday after Labor Day for the Night of Joy. This will cut into your time to enjoy MK and Wishes since the park closes about 6 pm so that the concerts can occur.

We would go again this year on Labor day except our kids don't start there holiday until the 8th of September. Going the 9th through the 16th.
:cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

We have always visited the last week in Sept, we love it; however, it's HOT. I love the parks at this time of year but the weather can get to you. This year since I'm taking my parents, we'll try the last week in Oct.

It usually is a little cooler at the end of Sept. We've gone for the last few years during Sept. It's my favorite time to go! The only bad thing is you never know when a hurricane may turn up! Luckily I live close enough to change plans at the last minute.
