We haven't been to WDW in a year and a half. We're planning on going this September but we're wondering about crowds and weather. Anyone been in September? We're thinking about 10-18th. We could go in December again and that would be better all around for us, but it just seems like so long to wait!

Thanks!

Crowds are generally light after Labor Day weekend. Weather will be hot, and hopefully there will be no hurricanes this year!

we were there in sept of 01== it was not at all crowded (we were the pre 9/11- then till 9/14) . this is based on pre 9/11--

mimimal crowds = walked on kilamanjaro, splash and big thunder, kali- in fact on kali my son and i were the only ones on the raft! when completed the ride, the CM told us we could stay on and do it again! in fact we're there right now and did kali yesterday and waited about 35' and my wife said 'i never noticed all the cool stuff here while you wait' --- because last trip we walked right thru and hardly saw any preshows!!

i remember doing the great movie train ride (??) and there were us four and another couple-- on the entire tram!
so- plus is the crowds are minimal= the downside is it rained every single afternoon for an hour or two. but for us that was ok, because we planned on going back to the lodge to rest (like now) because we have little ones.

to me it would depend on your daily activities-due to the rain. if you're planing breaks then i think sept is perfect- tho very hot and muggy. perfect meaning crowd levels! i hear october's even better if that's a possibility

I am planning on going in September and from what I understand, after Labor Day is great. Two of the guides books/resources I found stated that a week or so after Labor Day, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being very crowded, the crowd level is a "2". Works for me! :flower:

I go every Sept for my birthday. The weather is hot and humid, but not as bad as July/Aug. It's hurricane season, so it rains every day, usually from 2-3p. Last year, of course, we had 4 hurricanes blowing through the state, and 2 of them caused park closures (I was in WDW for hurricane Jeanne). Crowds are very low.

I went last year in September when everyone was afraid of Hurricane Ivan. There was a scare of the Hurricane coming thru WDW and we would lose part of our vacation but that didn't happen. We had NO lines at all. No waits more than 20 minutes all week. The weather was fantastic. Highs were in the low 80's most of the time. I would have to say about the best trip I have had because I got to do what I wanted to do. I actually got a call from a friend of mine when I was about to get on Mission Space. We are from Birmingham, AL and he was getting worried about the weather. He knew I had some Emergency training and he wanted to make sure I was nearby. I had to inform him I was in EPCOT in perfect weather having a ball. It was great.

We went in September once several years ago and I remember it not being very crowded at all, but it was very humid and hot. Just plan on lots of pool breaks and you should be fine. I think it is a nice time to go! :sunny:

It's a great time to go!
We will be there the 7th-13th! Maybe we'll see ya'll around! :cool1:

You will love it..we go every year in Sept and never wait in line for anything....last year we were there in between Ivan and Jeanne. This year DH wanted to try something different so we are going in Dec....let's all start praying ofr no hurricanes this year and that all our friends in the south will be spared.

hmm when is labour day this year ? I'll be at WDW frmo AUG28 to SEPT02 - how do u thnik crowds will be ?

Is Labor Day Weekend crowded?

We're flying in on Sunday. I figure we'll hit MK for dinner and a ride or two. But I was wondering about Monday (Labor Day). Is it still crowded or does it start to thin out as people head home? Is there one park that might be less crowded on Labor Day. I was thinking MK might be the busiest, so I was thinking of going to MGM or AK on Monday.

we go every year in september. yes, it is hot and humid. but there are almost NO crowds and everything is a walk on. we have gone every year since 1998 in september. we don't make priority seatings b/c the crowds just aren't there. Last year we went in between hurricanes. one saturday night while waiting for spectro we dined at liberty tree tavern at 7pm with just walking up. i think we waited 10-15 minutes for our name to be called. in my opinion this is the best time of the year to go crowd wise....we are arriving this year on labor day b/c a CM told me last year that historically the few days after labor day are the LOWEST attended days at the parks and the resorts. we are early risers and are done by 1-2pm so we then head back to our resort for some much needed pool time..... i've also realized that since it's so hot & you're touring the parks, i come home actually 5 -7 lbs LIGHTER from all of the walking & heat! and we eat like there's no tomorrow while in disneyworld! so this is great too! good luck! :sunny:

thanks for the good info TUCKERKEYS but when is labour day ? how will crowds be between AUG 28 and SEPT 02 ?

This year Labor Day is Monday, Sept 5th. We are going the 3rd-10th and can't wait! Last time Dh & I went was for our HM in April 2000- no crowds at all then, either. I think we will be so spoiled with no crowds that we won'be be able to handle it if we ever do go in a crowded time. Also, from what I've been reading, Labor Day is a major Holiday at WDW as far as crowds go. Most of the kids here are in school already or start that Tuesday. So, Monday realy shouldn't be too bad as the weekenders will be on their way home I think!

are ther any school holidays in USA between AUG 28 and SEPT02 ??

MAXIV, there are no US holidays on the dates you mention, just Labor Day on the 5th, so those guests may start arriving on the 2nd. Have fun!

so you think between AUG28 and SEPT02 crowds should be very low ?

Labor day weekend may have a larger crowd.

I have been to Disney twice in Sept. Low crowds, a typical everyday shower. You should be fine. I would go Tuesday after labr day. It is hot--but I do not recall humid. When drive back to Atlanta--we run into a little cooler weather. We usually arrived around the 12th--for 12/13 nights.

Have a great trip!!

Just be advised though--they are predicting another bad year for hurricanes. I would try to go in October.
