I'm just about to book our trip to Disney for the end of Sept next year for 14 nights. Has anyone stayed during this time?

I'm a little worried about the possibility of hurricaines and the amount of rainfall but hopefully it will be easing off as most of the stay will be during Oct.

Also, how are the queues? We usually go in Jan, so we're used to tiny queues!!

We have been several times in Sept and we find it a great time to go. As most children world wide seem to be in school, it is a very quiet time. The queues are very short and the parks aren't packed at all.

The weather is very hot and yes there is some rain, but I don't recall it being a problem. There is a greater chance of hurricanes but that would not put me off.

In 2004 we were at Disneys Saratoga Springs when a hurricane hit and we were well looked after and very safe. We were confined to the room for 24 hours which was a shame but it was quite an experience!

I had a baby thisJuly so September was out this year and next Sep DD starts school so no more Sept trips for us. Our favourite times to visit WDw are Sept, May and early December.

we got back yesterday, only one lot of rain, no hurricanes and no ques you will be fine

We were there a few weeks ago. Ernesto hit us right in the middle of our holiday, while Florence was just forming as we were leaving. Having said that, it's not put us off, and we're about to book for the exact same time next year and totally looking forward to it, esp as it's going to be our first on-site holiday!

The queues were virtually non-existant. I remember we went to MK one evening and it was amazing! In about the last hour of the night, we were able to go on everything in Fantasyland, including Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh, which, the last time we went to the park, both had queues of over an hour and half! It's blissful! We had one hurriance, which was actually only a tropical storm but the time it hit us, torrential downpours every afternoon, with some seriously loud and sometimes frightening thunder and lightning, but we had very few queues.

The longest time we had to wait for anything was when the monorail at MK broke down just as the park chucked out. We were all squashed on the platform for nearly an hour before we were finally able to get out of the park - only trouble was we missed our bus ride home. Broken rides was the theme of our holiday - Space Mountain stopped just as we were about to get in the car (having the lighting on sort of spoils the illusion!), we were stuck on the troll ride in Norway in the most unfortunately position - when it stops you just at the window/gap in the cave!!! And then on Expedition Everest halfway around!

But yeah, we're still going back at the same time of year and can't wait for quiet parks and loads of rain! :rotfl:

We are here at the moment no rain forecast for the next few days and defo no hurricanes. the queues are practically non exsistant 5 minutes here and there great time to come :thumbsup2

LOVE this time of year! We ahve been about 5 times in the last 2/3 weeks of september and only had a problem once!

Most of the time you get great weather and really small (or non existant) queues!

The one time that we did have an issue was the year that a hurricane actually came through Orlando (Hurricane Jeanne i think?!) and we had to stay in the hotel for 1 day. Not ideal but the hotel staff were great! They had entertainment for everybody - characters etc. They also gave us complimentary laundry tokens.

All in all i would not hesitate in going back this time of year!
