September 8, 2013 Disney Dream

Hello, fellow cruisemates! This will be the 4th Disney cruise for DH and I, and we'll be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary on 9/11 (a "second honeymoon" really, since Hurricane Jean cut our honeymoon short back in 2004!) We decided to leave the kids at home with my parents and go all out and spoil ourselves on this one - concierge room, cabana at CC, brunch at Palo and dinner at Remy! 53 more days!:goodvibes

Congrats on the anniversary!

We will be with you guys, concierge and sans kids. We did this once before jumping on a 3 night Dream cruise a few weeks into her sailings when a saw a particular cabin open up, must have been lucky catching a cancellation. We had booked it about 50 days prior to sailing. It is a different experience for sure without the kids and I can't wait to do it again with a sea day thrown in there! :goodvibes

Awesome! We'll be in 12004 - perhaps we'll see you around. Funny, you even live in our neighboring state (we're in RI). hahaha.

so I don't think it is a realistic upgrade, I booked an 11c and was given an 11a- which was more $$ than the rate i booked, so same size room less money???:cool1:

Hey Everybody!

Just an FYI - I was looking at DCL's webiste this morning and there is a deal on Veranda - Cat. 07A cabins for our date of sailing. A Cat 07A is cheaper than an inside stateroom. Must be a bunch of open verandas.

We can't take advantage because we booked through DVC, but it may be worth a call to DCL to see if you can upgrade.

Good luck!

This $599 for a 7A has been out for a while. When we booked it you also received an OBC $100 by putting in a code DRM on your booking. We are not GTY, we received a 7A obstructed view veranda on deck 9. This was a direct booking on the website too.

Me, DH and DD16 will be experiencing our very first Disney Cruise, I can barely contain myself i'm sooo excited!! It's all I can think about!!! Anything I SHOULD NOT miss? I was wondering about the chocolate factory excursion....anyone have reviews?

Room 9062

Wish I was IN the Walt Suite, but perhaps someday. hahaha.

We have been in the Roy but not the Walt. It is an experience! I posted reviews of the Roy suites in the stateroom room report section. The royal suites are truly magical. We are in a starboard side T this cruise.

Welcome mrsmuffin13! Glad to have you aboard. I added you to the roll call.

We have a few other cruisers with kids your DD's age. They are listed in the roll call. We also have an active FB page. Link is in the first post.

My mom, me and DD are doing the chocolate excursion at Graycliff. Looks fun and the pastry chef was on Top Chef, which I am addicted to. And hello, free chocolate! I'd say that the last stage show, "Believe" is a must see, especially for your DH and DD. We love the alcohol tastings and if your DD decided to hang at the teen beach, Serenity Bay, the adult beach on CC, is lovely and quiet.

The 6A and 5A cabins are going to be pretty similar. I believe the difference has to do with location and the veranda view. The 5As are located a little higher on the ship and have a clear partition instead of a white wall, which partially obstructs the view. Congrats on the upgrade!

Wow! I saw some reviews of the Walt and Roy. That must have been amazing. I am always so torn because we spend almost no time in the cabins, so we always end up in an inside stateroom. But the suites looked spectacular. I think if we did a longer cruise it would be worth it.

Alcohol taste testing!!!! I'm in!! I too love top chef, and for some reason I cannot stop watching chopped.
I considered DD a friend, but hoping this will give her a chance to meet people from other parts of the world.
