Perfect! My son can live w/out chips, he's just more of a salty snacker than a sweet one, like my daughter. Chocolate on our pillows!?! I knew this cruise was a dream come true, LOL. Thank you so much for the info... one last thing, how much is stuff like the popcorn and candy? If I bring microwave popcorn of my own, would there be somewhere to pop it? Thanks!

They sell popcorn and candy outside of the theaters.
They do sell chips and other snack type foods in the duty free liquor shop on board.

Disney does not have out bags of chips onboard ( They do have at Castaway CAY)

Usually when you order room service, the sandwiches come with chips.
If he can't live with out them, you can bring some with you or pick up in port.
I have seen corn chips with salsa in the sports bars in between dinners and in the promenade lounge around 11pm.

As for chocolate, there is usually ice cream and other chocolate desserts. You should get chocolates left on your pillow every night.

There is a lot of food available on board. I think that your kids will be too busy to worry about eating. My kids love hanging with their new friends and in the clubs.

You can get free :water, soda, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate 24 hours a day at the self serve drink station on Deck 9. It is located in the corner near the Mickey pool.

Our family is so excited to just to be on a Disney cruise (also our first ever cruise) that we are thinking we want to spend the entire time on it. In other words, we are thinking we won't bother w/ any shore excursions. Do people do that or are we crazy? It seems like there's enough to do on the boat and we don't feel bad about missing out on stuff in CA since we live on the West Coast anyway. And I didn't really see anything in Ensenada that the kids would want to do. Plus, we figure not getting off the boat saves us a bit of money too. Just wondering how common this is...? Thanks.

You are not crazy to stay on the ship. If my kids had it their way , we would have all port days.

The kids clubs will be open and there will be other activities around the ship. It is a great time to go the movies.

The pools will not be crowded. There is a large TV screen above the Goofy pool that will be playing movies, too.

ALways have your camera handy. You never know when a character will be wandering around the ship.

No microwaves are available. I want to say popcorn was around $5 a bag. It is pre-packaged.(not popped on-board.

I meant my kids would love all SEA Days.

When we were on our Alaska cruise last year, the kids stayed on the ship in Ketchichan.

Disney should be usually runs spa specials on port day

I'm from Jonathan's family! We are heading over from New Zealand to primarily have a brilliant family re-union with our family from Australia and UK but also so excited to be joining the cruise!

DH and I (34) are coming with our daughters aged 3 and 6 years who can't wait. We are all Mickey Mouse mad and love cruises so this is the perfect combination! We cruised from Auckland to Vanuatu and New Caledonia earlier this year and have cruised years ago before children but this is our first Disney Cruise and we can't wait!!

Any suggestions for good hotels to stay in prior to getting on the ship? We are in LA for two nights before we depart.

Good hotel depends on what you want to do with your two days as does the location and your transportation. Just relaxing... pool... amusement parks... aquariums?? What are you thinking?

I'm thinking we can switch or go twice if they'll let us. Do we know if they ask who's attending on the group reservation? I'd like to hold onto our original reservation for now. That way if we get others who want to go to Palo brunch but can't get a ressie, we can step aside and just keep our original day/time.

How exciting to think that you might join us! Linda (adnil530) is the one organizing this event so I'll let her confirm particulars. However, the plan at this time was to get 12-14 people to make it possible to request dining in the private room. Now that I think we have those numbers Linda should be able to make the request. I wouldn't think that two of you already having reservations should be a problem (?)

I know I should have posted last night but I have been working long hours and I didn't My dh's brother, wife, adult daughter and husband put their ressies on this cruise last night! Including StSomewhere, we now have 14 people who have signed up for the group brunch:

LiseG & stevenpensacola....Thanks for offering to join in the group brunch, but for now, we are full. I will certainly hold you in back up if that is okay. I am so glad that you both appear to have reservations for brunch already...hold on to them for now! I wish Palo's private room could seat 18!

If someone on the Brunch list above manages to snag a reservation for themselves or decides that they don't want to go to the group brunch, please let me know so that we can fill all the slots.

Each in our group are encouraged to seek out your own reservations for Palo Brunch as there is no guarantee that Disney will grant our request. It is only a request and it may or may not be granted. Your reservation is tied to your cruise reservation number and they only allow each person 1 brunch booking. This means that if you have a brunch booking and the group brunch booking is granted, your original booking will be canceled by Disney.

There are only 2 sea days. I will request an 11:30 on the first sea day and as back up 11:30 on the 2nd sea day. If your character breakfast falls on a Palo Brunch day...go to the character breakfast, eat light or only have coffee. You will get your fill at Palo

I will need the following information from each of the participants: Name, reservation number, cabin #. You can pm this info to me. I will put the request in about 30 days prior to departure so around the 30th.

This is an awesome meal. I hope we get it! We can only try.

cool! You're a momofm&m too! My girls are Melanie (10) and Madeline (7). My coworkers are laughing at how many cruises we will have been on but I won't have any plans for a while after this one. I wish we lived closer to WDW because DL really isn't the same experience. My youngest is too little to remember going and it is so expensive to go there. The nice thing about living in San Diego is easy access to cruise ports.

We get to SoCal once a year and there are 2 days in SF... I'm thinking more and more about spending some "shore time" aboard. This is our 5th Disney Cruise, but first aboard the Wonder

We always get grief about cruising too much. We like to cruise at least once a year. Preferably 2 times.
It makes us happy and it is our families preferred vacation.

My husband can keep his cell phone off and not be able to be contacted for work.

I don't have to cook or clean.

I live just south of Detroit. So, it is a long drive to WDW or a cruise port.

Next summer, we are planning a two week driving cross country trip.
My daughter thinks that we are going to stop at DL during the trip.

I just check my kids old cards. No holes .

Sorry for all the basic questions, it's our first cruise!

We just read the "What should I wear to dinner?" FAQ and hubby is not keen on the dress code... will he be out of place w/ a dress shirt and tie or does he really need to bring a suit jacket? Besides not loving to dress up, he's not happy about the extra space that dress shoes will take up, LOL. And he's worried about the suit jacket wrinkling badly in our luggage.

And speaking of clothes, do you think we'll want to wear shorts and short sleeves or pants and light sweaters? I guess if I were just going to SoCal, I'd bring a mix but I was wondering if the ships tend to be on the cooler side or ??
