I am Angrypenguin's wifey.
Joining this thread. Been lurking. I am over the top excited for this cruise! It is going to be our first cruise ever!!

I haven't started packing but I have a mental checklist of what to pack and this weekend I might start.

Thanks to people who started this thread and have been organizing stuff. I look forward to meeting up!!

It looks like (almost) everyone got their time picked, at least in the respect that nights 1 and 2 are full, so I went ahead and put 'Rather Be At WDW' and 'WeLuvDCL' in night three.

If anyone wants to make changes, let me know, otherwise I think we're set!

Yumm! so much great cruise food!! Actually my very very favorite cruise food of all i had both on the wonder and the dream. It's the escargo! So yummy!

Me too! LOVE escargo. If you like calamari, you have to try to the calamari at Palo. Yum!!

I do love calamari also. actually i enjoy every seafood i have tried with the exception of the sea urchin I tried in Spain. Not a fan!! i couldnt get past the texture to even taste a thing!
we always discuss the option of Palo, but we always come to the same decision. That we don't want to sacrifice a night in the regular restaurant with our kids. we prefer to eat as a family. and the reality of sitting there with the kids and not eating anything, so as to save room for Palo later on, ...well lets just say the temptation of all that scrumptious food would be too much to handle! Plus i wouldnt want us or the kids to miss the nighttime show. Maybe when the kids are teenagers.

WeLuvDCL, i see in your signature that u are also DVC. do u attend the meet-up thing they do before sail away? we love it! we always get lots of goodies! Maybe we'll see u there!?

Welcome to the thread! If you've been keeping tabs, you know that we're planning a meet on the first day on deck 12 during/after the sailaway party. Hopefully y'all can join us!

This will my first Disney cruise, and it'll be my partner's first cruise of any sort, so we're both really looking forward to it.

Our family also has our Bdays all clumped together. In September. I just had mine, my DD is turning 7 next week, and my DH a few days later. My DS has Feb all to himself.

I see you asked about an FE. i just wanted to make sure u realize that we had a "soft" cut-off date of Sept 1. meaning that some families may not be able to acommodate any late-comers. Some may, however, so if you are really interested, you may want to ask to find out who is able to include you at this point. Not all the people chatting on here are involved in FE. Just the ones in the spreadsheet linked to IKnowdoYou? 's signature. The spreadsheet linked to Hamm1207 includes everyone from this thread, non-FE particip also. I appologize for reiterating if you already know all this, i just wanted 2 make sure u were aware.

Yep! My daughter is in second grade too. and DS is in 4th. we homeschool our kids. and they are really testing my patience this year! we only just started and i need a vacation already!! Good thing it's coming up shortly! we start our vacation Sept 23. So it'll be here so soon! I can't wait!

Here's what i usually do...it's something to think about.

I usually cut off the list at a month out, but being that a lot of newbies have been wandering to the boards, if anyone wants to join late i will allow it, but i will let them know that most people purchased gifts based on the cut off date's numbers, so they may not receive a gift from all participants. This allows them to still give gifts, and some people purchase extras, say because thy buy in bulk, so it helps balance out and keep most people happy.

Are you in charge of the Fish Extender Exchange? We just booked our 9/30 Dream Cruise yesterday, and would love to be a part of it!

I completely understand where you are coming from with trying to create as much magic as possible! I spent hours on these forums when I first booked and I had no idea what an FE was!

Are you surprising the kids? If not did you schedule a character call?

You could make them cool cruise t-shirts to wear after they get the call! i have made some great Disney t-shirts with printable iron-ons!

I will be able to acommodate you guys for the FE also.
