September 30, 2012 Dream vacation

Thanks Ryan! I didnt mean to rush you. you didnt have to do anything official yet, but thank you! I have been reading some threads on great FE gifts & i'm shocked to see how many FE groups have gotten over 100 cabins!! wow!! i think 30 would be a good number.

Oh, no worries. I have been meaning to do it, but just kept forgetting about it.

It is rather amazing how some cruises pan out. One FE group we were a part of had five cabins. One had 26, I think. Most have been around 10-15, though. I'm good for whatever, though. :)

Ryan

Our last cruise only had 12 cabins participate in the FE and we had about 75 disboarders total (not all participated in the FE).

For us it is:
Sarah (Abu/Rafiki)
Clint (Donald/Ray from Princess and the Frog)
Room number is 2558
No food allergies or special requests due to medical conditions

The easiest way to i have found to keep a list is through google docs. There you can create a spreadsheet and share the link for it.

Thanks, Ryan! (Yay, Chandler, AZ!)

Just to give up an update for our info:

Rather Be At WDW - Stateroom 10520
Linda - Walt himself
Merlin - Jasmine
Kids - oh, wait, they're staying at home!!!

I haven't made a final decision on my FE gifts, but I might like to have the family name initial if people are willing to provide that.

Thanks again for getting this going.

Hello~ wanted to let you know we switched to the Fantasy cruise the week before so won't be joining you on this one. Have a great time!!

Here is some more of our info for FE exchange
Our stateroom is #8584
And our family last initial is P.
My name is Kyle (I'm the mom) (I felt the need to specify because of my name :goodvibes )
If anyone needs first names for my husband or kids, i'll pm them. (My husband prefers that)
I've been working on some cute FE gifts. i'm sooo excited!! I should really work on making some sort of FE or there wont be any place to put any gifties. I was really hoping that we would get some more people in on the fun, but now i'm not holding my breath. I checked the meet page for the cruise we are planning on booking for Sept 2013, and there are already a ton of people on there with several interested in participating in FE. i couldnt believe it! There's more people on there and that's over a year away!
Well, we're getting closer & closer. It'll be here before we know it! And now that we are officially on summer vacation (we homeschool), the next couple months will go by so quickly!!

I, too, am surprised at how quiet this thread is! Our last cruise thread was over 100 pages and the FE exchange had 60-some people.

Here's hoping it picks up a bit! Go Sept 30 Dream!!! :cheer2:

I'm so sorry, everyone. We've been on Disney-mode for the last five weeks (Steph and I took a last minute Dream cruise last month, we took the whole family to WDW last week, then drove out to DL last Sunday for the day), so I haven't had the time to get the FE List done, but it's...finally done.

It's pretty basic. And everyone is allowed to edit it. If I missed something, or if you have a recommendation on adding columns, feel free to throw it out there.

So with all of that said, here it is!

:) Where are you in Chandler? We're on the south-side, near Arizona and Ocotillo.

We are northwest of you - Ray, a little east of I-10.

Sounds like you've had some definite Disney fun! I'm jealous. It is nice being close enough to drive to DL!

Thanks again for the FE organization.

Thank you for organizing the FE! If you'd like to add, our last name initial is "C." if you'd like our last name, i will send you a pm. We're planning on paying off the cruise this weekend!!

We're about 180 degrees from "foodies" so no dining reservations for us. I doubt we'll do any port excursions either, but I guess I better take another look in case I see something.

What excursions are you all planning?

As soon as we pay off the cruise, we'll start booking. This will be our 3rd/4th Bahamas cruise, so we'll probably just stay on the ship in Nassau and hang out on the beach at Castaway. We are thinking about doing Atlantis, as we have heard good things about it. We shall see!

Cruise is paid off!! Maybe later on tonight we will check in and maybe book a palo (not sure i can wait 2 more cruises after this one for our first platinum)! We decided to rent snorkel gear ($25/person) on Castaway and just hang out. We also decided to stay on the boat in Nassau to get some more time to explore the ship. We were on her maiden voyage, and we were disappointed that we didn't get to see/do everything. We're going to spend the Nassau time riding the Aquaduck, playing Midship Detective, etc.

IKnowDoYou? Will you please consider adding the FE list link to your signature? That way it will be easy to locate, especially as updates are made they will automaticly be uploaded. Thanks!

Also, would anyone be objected to the creation of a roll call list to keep track of fellow cruisers? It will be separate from the FE list, and will simply have a column signifying participation in the FE?

Another disboards tradition for cruising is having customized lanyards printed for all disboarders and their families/friends cruising with them. It's really cool to walk around the ship wearing specialized lanyards, and they make for great conversation starters!

*My husband and I are back to back cruising (western caribbean followed by Dream Bahamas), and we thought it would be awesome to have lanyards for the cruises. We are being quoted $350-395 for 250 lanyards and badge holders. I was thinking that it would be cheaper to combine the two lanyard orders, having the lanyard read "Magical Dream Cruise 2012" and have seperate badges for the cruises. There are currently 65 people on both cruise meet threads. I think 250 lanyards should be plenty with over 2 months to go until the cruise. I might be able to get only 100-200 if needed. If we were to go through with this, would anyone be willing to donate to the lanyards fund? If you and your family are willing to do so, please PM me. I really hate asking for the possibility of donations, and if it were only $100 or so, it wouldn't be an issue, but $350-400 is a lot.*

We are hoping to go through lanyardslab as the owner, Rick, is also owner of **************, the disney podcast.*

Any thoughts or ideas?! Thanks!

Here is the link for the roll call. If I set it up correctly, I should be the only one able to make changes. The link will also be in my signature.

We're going to stay on (or close to) the ship in Nassau, so nothing there. I booked Remy for my mom's birthday, Palo dinner another night, and Palo Brunch on our day at sea. I also got a cabana on Serenity Bay, and I booked parasailing and jet skiing at CC.

My son & I rented snorkel gear last Sept on our Dream cruise. We loved it until we saw a shark! yes it was kinds young but it was still about 6 feet long! I told a couple of the lifeguards and they were aware. they said there was nothing to worry about as it was small. There was a hurricane a week prior and it came over the netting in the high waters. They said that a baracuda had gotten in also. That was pretty much the end of the fun for me & my son. I actually had my water camera in my hand at the moment but i was too panic-stricken to take a picture. After the fact, i was so mad that i hadnt taken a pic. So anyway, i dont think there will be any snorkeling this year for us.
we also stay on the ship in Nassau to enjoy the pool, aquaduck, and detective agency. Its nice because it's not too crowded that day!
