well howdy anybody out there,
we made it to macon, no major snags, a little trouble finding available restrooms in miss, we had filled up in monroe, la. and hadn't gone a mile across the river, and my leg cramped up, guess i sweat out a little too much while mowing yesterday, so we went about three exits up, and thought we'd pull in and top off to make it into ala, well the station we pulled into was out of gas, and the lines for across the street were backed up into this station, so i grabbed some powerade and got back in, and dw took off. i can't tell how much relief it was to get out and stretch, having a cramp in the car is no fun, even in a suburban.
we got just past jackson, and first dd rachel then ds son jordan piped up that they had to go, well we looked and saw that we were almost to a rest stop, pulled in after the 25 minute can you hold it? dance, and the rest rooms were closed due to power outage, so we started trying exits and there were long lines at any stations with power and gas. but kept running into closed stations with no power, finally at meridian we saw a truck stop across the freeway, drove in the truck entrance and around the building to avoid the line, and went in for some relief. think we'll make sure everyone makes use of the mississippi visitor center on the way home and will hurry our way to louisiana as fast as we can.
so far with the exception of atlanta, the gas prices have not been totally out of whack, but i heard that the gov. was reigning in atlanta today, i think we'll fill up before we leave georgia, depending on the price and we should be able to mjake it to the space coast, and hit the beach tomorrow afternoon.
maybe we'll get the inkling to check out the radisson resort tomorrow evening, at any rate may those of you traveling out tomorrow have safe travels, and it goes as well for you as it has so far for us, it really has been pretty easy so far, knock wood.
