September 3, 2005 --- Who is going?

Hi Vicki!! :wave2:

This is one of the most active groups -- and everybody is really friendly! Glad you joined us!

I can't wait until next Saturday....we're leaving Wednesday morning, so we can spend a few days in FL before the cruise.

Ginny

I love reading all the posts. It just makes me more excited that the time is almost here. Our flight leaves Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. -Vicki :)

Vicki - Are you guys staying in Orlando or near the Port? We're at Saratoga Springs...within walking distance of Downtown Disney. :goodvibes I can't wait!!!

Andy's almost packed...guess I should start my packing.

Ginny

Ginny,
We are flying in to Orlando, but we are staying near the port. I think it's the Radisson - that's where we usually stay. I won't start packing until Thursday. We have traveled so much that I'm getting pretty good at doing it at the last minute. Is it just you and your husband going?
- Vicki

Welcome Vickie :cool1:

Robyn- Have you read the new Nora trilogy? (Blue Dahlia and Black Rose. Red Lily is due out in December) I really enjoyed them.

Hope everyone's packing is going well. :earseek:

Rachel

Hi Rachel,
I love Nora Roberts books too.
Can not wait until next week-end!!!
 -Vicki

Robyn....And so the list continues of things in common. I know we are going to have a great time together. Those romantic novels are such a nice break from reality!

Ginny...You will love Saratoga Springs....we stayed there last Oct. with some friends. And yes you can walk to downtown disney, but I hate to sweat, so we drove :goodvibes . They have just redone the Lego store there. It is one of my kids favortie places. We also always eat at Rainforest.

Well it is 4:52 am here, and I cannot sleep. Do you think I might be excited? I am planning to venture outside to the backporch where the shirts have been sitting in plastic bags all night. I cannot wait to open them and see how they look. First I will have to make sure that our resident alligator is not lurking in the lake. I hope he doesn't eat t -shirts :rotfl2:

Still haven't packed, but have come up with a problem. WE ARE TAKING TOO MUCH!! My solution.....we will just have to stay on the ship an extra week :)

Robyn, Wendy, Rachel...I was wondering if you think it would be good idea to email eachother pix of the boys. I know at least my little one would love to finally get to see the people we have been talking about. I know there is a way to do it, I could assign it to Frank. Let me know!!

Chat with you later. Off to coffee, alligator checking, and shirt washing!!

Is anyone else watching for the Magic to come through the canal? Did I miss her?? I'm at pancanal.com watching the Miraflores locks, which is the first set of locks on the Pacific side. I don't see her at Gatun either.

Tina

Magic is scheduled to arrive at the Miraflores lock at 9:30 am eastern and Gatun Lock at 3:30 pm eastern.

Here is the link...

Just remember...we are the next to board her...

I heard that Roy Disney is on board...I wonder if he is staying on until disembarkation at Port Canaveral??? We might get to see him if we are at port early.

Thanks!! I'll keep watching. I grew up in Panama, so it's great to see the canal again.

Drcell01:

Thanks for the weather updates!!

Everyone:

I leave tonight. Need some suggestions now. We were planning to stay at BCV, spend alot of time at SAB, go to MK for one day, and just relax before the cruise. How am I gonna do all that now when it will be raining all week? Any suggestions for dry things to do? Help.............. :confused3

Wendy

Wendy...

I rains here everyday!!!! However, it rarely lasts all day. Just afternoon showers. Pick yourself up some rain ponchos, they are less expensive if you buy them outside the parks. And then....just have FUN!!!!!

Mary...Prayers and Pixie dust, you will feel better.

I ask for the same for my nephew Kyle. My sister had to take him to the Dr. this AM with a fever. They went to Dr. and have medicine!!

Thank you Suzanne.

Prayers and pixie dust on the way for Kyle :wizard: It's one thing for an adult not to feel great when going away, but for a kid, it's just devastating. I hope Kyle's feeling better soon.

On the packing front, I am all done  I just have to add my DH's glasses, for when his contacts are out, and one more prescription of mine (medicating my teeth problems away) By bedtime tonight, I should be ready to leave... just in case I have to do an emergency visit to the dentist pre-flight tomorrow. I am praying that that doesn't happen though.

My only advice for our "pool party" Don't wear black! If you do it will be a rusty brown color when you get out.... DCL chlorinates the heck out of the pools. I hope no one at DCL is reading this thread, what with togas, kegs, pyrotechnics, and late night swims they might want to deny this DIS group from boarding :rotfl:

Wendy, I didn't know you were heading to BCV, I'll be arriving at BCV tomorrow evening... and our fist stop (hopefully) will be Beaches and Cream for a Kitchen Sink.

If you see a group of 8 New Yorkers roaming the grounds, that'll be us- you might want to run and hide :rotfl2: Well, if you hear that pronounced accent, it just might be us, say Hi! :wave2:

If anyone is up this early and wants to watch the Magic going through the Panama Canal this morning. It's going through the Miraflores Lock right now. You can watch it at pancanal(dot)com. Click on the live web cam

I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the replys. Sorry I came and disappeared but I had the hardest time finding my way back to this board. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the welcome party.

Laurie

Laurie,
Tommy just received Zach's e-mail. We checked out Zach's website. That's an amazing kid you have there.
I'd be interested to hear more about what Zach does. I think you should post a link... that's a kid to be proud of.

Wow, you guys have been busy here since last night.

I love that we have so many Nora Roberts fans. My sister and I are crazy about her books. Rachel, I have read the two books that are out in the new trilogy (I think I have learned more about gardening from them than I ever knew before). I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd one. I know my sister hasn't read them because she is waiting for the last one to come out because she hates to wait and wants to read one after the other without stopping.

I am so jealous of you guys going to Beaches and Cream. The Fudge Mudslide is my favorite ice cream in the world. My parents own at Boardwalk so we always stay there and then walk over a couple of times and eat at Beaches and Cream. Perfect ice cream and good food too.

I think it would be a great idea to send pictures of the boys to each other. I am at my parents house right now so I don't have access to my email but I will be home later today. I will then send pictures via email to those who Tyler has been talking too. I know Brady and Julianna already know what each other look like but I am dying to see all of these other kids that I feel like I already know. I think it will make it easier on the kids too if they know who they are looking for.

Laurie, I am glad you were able to find your way back to the board. It is going to be so much fun meeting everyone.

Our flight leaves around 7:00 on Friday morning too and we are staying at the Radisson as well. Maybe we will meet some of you fellow cruisers.

Robyn
