Saw this on line regarding wearing shorts in the main dining rooms on Disney's four ships and thought it might be of interest:

USA Today: Shorts at dinner? Disney Loosens Dress Code On Cruises.

Shorts are still NOT allowed for Palo and Remy.

Also, some of you have probably sailed with Captain Tom Forberg. If you have, you will be happy to know he is now Commodore Tom Forberg. Here is the Disney Parks Blog entry announcing Commodore Tom Forberg's appointment:

It’s Official! Disney Cruise Line’s Captain Tom is Now Commodore Tom

So disappointed. Disney was one of the last cruise lines with class.

I so agree! It is only a couple of hours out of your day! I can not wait to see what people will wear to the dining room now:scared1::scared1: If they wore shorts when pants were required, I can only imagine what we are going to see:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Personally, we will still be dressed for dinner, on this cruise anyway:rotfl2:

I posted earlier about possible meeting places and JQ agreed so how about if we set a meeting as follows:

On Board Meet: Sunday Sept 29 at 3:00pm
at Currents - Deck 13 Forward (above the adult pool area) if it is nice outside (which it will be). If, by some chance it is raining or overly windy we can meet at 3:00pm at the District Lounge - Deck 4 Aft in the adult area. Kids are welcome in that area before 9:00PM.

If anyone else has any ideas or preferences, please feel free to voice your opinion. :goodvibes

As someone said before, no hairy guys in tank tops.: I'm sad to see them relaxing the rule too.

What's the weather usually like in sept? It's been slightly cooler this summer here. Should I bring sweatshirts and pants?

I have found that it generally nice outside on the boat. I always bring one pair of walk around pants and a light jacket for the inside. I did buy a sweatshirt on the cruise to the Gulf I took last year at same time because the inside of the boat was cold to me. Sometimes it was windy and cool in the mornings.

I am speaking to what we experienced on the Gulf. I check a few days before we leave and add layers if I need to. I try to not pack extra items if I do not have to.

The weather should be warm, the restaurants and shows can be cool, I usually bring a sweater to dinner with me. Also when the ship is moving, you can get quite a breeze, they tend to go slower during the day, so it is not too windy, but at night if you are out on deck, it can be very windy.

I usually have a sweater for inside anywhere with all the AC for myself. But the rest of my brood especially the boy seem to never be cold. Then when I don't pack them a sweatshirt we have unusual weather and its $60 for one. Lol!

When we sailed in may there was a awesome lightening storm at night and it definitely wasn't freezing on deck just a little chilly. I can't really look at the costal weather ahead of packing since we're headed to WDW the week before. Wish they could forecast a couple weeks in advance. Mother Nature and Science need to communicate more. Lol!

Can't wait! Just got my daughter pirate dress yesterday.

So I put the cabins in numerical order on the google doc not realizing it automatically saved. I hope it doesn't mess anyone up. I was going to just rearrange it print and close. :-/

Hey all...just wondering if anyone has received their cruise docs yet? Almost at 30 days!! Woo hoo!

Someone posted on facebook that they remember getting their docs about 3 weeks out. But, since my 1st DVC Cruise, I can not say for sure.

I can't believe we're one month away.

After planning for 20 months we're now frantically finalizing details.

some quick changes -
we are now staying at OKW pre-cruise

this eliminated the AKV pickup point and allowed us to add Saratoga Springs which was needed for our group.

also, we are now spending the first night post cruise at Universal and will be getting off the return bus with the MCO group which will reduce the MCO surcharge.

If anyone else has made any changes, please let us know.

JQ is reconfirming all details to finalize both rosters and pricing and will be distributing this in a couple of days.

Everyone on the bus should have received an information request by email or PM. If you have not been in contact, please let him know here or send him a PM request.

So much to do...............so little time

Also, just an FYI - yesterday I contacted shoreside concierge to move my Palo reservation to the "new" pirate night - Night 2. They told me it was recently updated to At Sea Day - Night 3.

Does anyone have any idea if this is true?
I questioned them and they put me on hold to place a call, came back on the line and are insisting it is Night 3.
