:confused3 I read somewhere that the parasailing has been cancelled on Castaway Cay until further notice. Something to do with the company that was providing this excursion for them. Does anyone else know anything about this?:confused3

Shannon & Maria:
I thought so too (that parasailing was cancelled).. but my DH kept saying it's still available.. I'm not sure if he's read it somewhere here on the boards....

Maria: Me too.. I'll be safely on the ground the whole time ;)

All you who live in warm sunny places be glad! Tues. we had a record breaking 80 degrees. Wed. it started to snow and it is still snowing! Nothing like NE Ohio weather.

Deweysgirl, our weather stinks and our sports teams always choke!

and deal with hurricanes, bugs, humidity...

still better than snow!
I'm with you Shannon ! LOVE, love , love humidity ! I have eczema and the cold, dry winters kill my skin. It hurts so bad despite all the prescription creams I use.

I'll even take the hurricanes & bugs over frigid, cold, snow and ice storms ! I was born in the wrong state !!! I have relatives from PA who moved down to FL many moons ago(4 sets of relatives !) and none of them ever want to come back to live in PA again, in spite of all the stuff mentioned by ragdoll ! That has to say something.....;)

I did read this Shannon and GrOOvy. I heard the company pulled out of the contract. I guess I'm really, really hoping a new company steps in by the time our cruise rolls around. Fingers crossed......

Maria: Well, my DH will be bummed.... but then again.. we'll have more family time on the beach :thumbsup2

How many of us are from Southern Cali? We live in South County (Orange County) and we go to disneyland about once a week. Any of you would like to meet up with our families? (p.s.) we have the 2nd to the cheapest passport, so I think we're blocked for the next 2 weeks)

Unfortunatly, I'm from the crappy Ohio. But I sure wished I lived in Cali(or anywhere else warm.

Mia, I guess your at least with me on the weather issue. I can't wait to finally move out of this crap wheather.

Shannon....I'm definitely with you.....takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r for our springs to warm up here in PA & our summer's cool down way fast. I'm a flip flop and shorts kind of girl ;) I made trips to WDW in Oct, Dec and Feb this year just to see the sun !!!
I need to use my heater well into May sometimes ! Then summer hits hard and fast, and lasts all of about 12 weeks. As soon as the calendar is turning to September, the temps are already starting to drop. I had my heater on at night around the 3rd week of September. The winter seems to last too long. I hate snow/ice/freezing temps. I'll be waking up to the 20's tommorrow and it was snowing an hour ago while I was grocery shopping ! Come on !?
Dh and my goal is to move to FL. Most of my family is there. The only thing that is stopping us now is my kids don't want to be pulled out of their schools and lose their friends they've had all their lives. So we are biding our time.....my uncle sends me real estate books all the time from his area of FL (southeast coast--Sebastian). One day........

GrOOvy ~
Sounds like my kind of place to live ! Visiting DL on a weekly basis. How far from the park do u live ?

We're in a suburb of Phoenix. Wish I had a Passport to Disneyland! My cousin lives in Irvine and she buys an AP every year. Her favorite thing to do is call me while in line for Pirates (our favorite ride and the first ride we ride in the park) to tell me where she is. Grrr....

You all could move to Phoenix. We have the best winters (i get weather reports from my folks in Ohio!) and the summers are spent indoors with the A/C on or in our pools!

My Dad just sent a video clip he took of his front yard and the snow falling. They're in a suburb of Columbus. On the video clip he says, "Don't you just love it when it's spring time in Ohio and it's snowing in April?" I wrote back and said he can keep it. Maybe this snow today is why my Mom has started campaiging again to convince him to book the cruise!!!

We also have relatives in Phoenix. They moved from PA (suburb of Philly) about 7 years ago and have no plans to return to this cold state. It was my husband's cousin. She and her dh both were relocated by their employer. Their option was to move to AZ or be out of job. They chose AZ....and now they wished they had done it sooner.

More and more people are coming here and not leaving. I came here 4.5 years ago and don't plan to leave, ever!

It does seem creepy - especially the response. :confused3 I'm not quite sure what to make of it. My sister went on a cruise (not DCL) when she was about 15 or something. She's a cute girl and caught the eye of one of the staff on the boat. He kept popping up everywhere she was and offered her drinks, called her in her room, and even after they were home - called her at our house and she hadn't given him the number. Even though it's a cruise and you assume people have the intention of having fun - there is still evil out there - everywhere.

JDBlair: We live like 15 mins south of Irvine in Mission Viejo (Ladera Ranch). We LOVE south county especially our community. Everytime we visit somewhere else, it just doesn't compare  . So, we're a bit spoiled here. Like I said earlier, we're going to be in Arizona next month, near your place. We're looking forward to a girls day at the spa (in Chandler) with my sisters in law! We go to AZ often 'coz we have family there. Arizona's home prices are quickly rising due to people (especially from Cali) moving there. I must say... you get more bang for your buck in homes there.

P.S. I clicked on that thread.. and it did sound really creepy...
No matter how comfortable we get with our situation, we always need to be careful 'coz there are some sick and evil people out there :scared1:

Nighty night guys and dolls

Jajomo.....
I know ! :lmao:
No need this year to go out and get anything special to wear for Easter to church or anything because it'll all be covered up by winter coats and scarves ! They are predicting Sunday morning to be about 22 degrees ! And I'm the sort of person that gets a chill in my bones when the temps are anywhere under 60 !

And yes....post #3 on that thread is a bit creepy. A crew member hit on a friend's dd years ago when she was younger (not 13....but more like 17). This was on Carnival.

On my last Disney cruise, I went with just me and DD and I will never go by myself again. I was fine until a waiter(not mine) kept calling me in my room asking if he can come to my room to hang out. I told him to stop calling and he did but that could have been a very bad situation. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for him to have gotten a key to my room and just come in. I'm glad this didn't happen untill the third night because the next day was very uncomfortable, but it was only a four day cruise, fortunately.:sad2:
