September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Yes, we'll be there! Room 9662 ;)

Stephanie, husband Jon and daughters Katie and Madison, age 11. First seating dining. Hometown: New Hampshire.

PS. Spoke with my TA and she says that is our room. We'll see! What's the worst that can happen? :)

We'll be at BLT the 19th-22nd then traveling down to the port that morning. Have to visit the new Fantasyland!! :lovestruc

Welcome! I'm glad you are with us! I've added you to the roll call. Are the 11 y/o's twins? I'm sure my 11 y/o daughter Savannah would be happy to meet them. She met a girl her age on our last cruise that she still keeps in touch with.

Ron

Looks like that age group is well represented....my DD will be almost 11 and in 6th grade when we sail. If anyone wants to email with her, PM me and I'll send you her email address. :)

Yes, they are twins and love to meet other kids so I'm sure they will get along great with your daughter!

That's awesome! We'll have a gaggle of 11 year old girls running around :rotfl:

I know my girls are excited to go to The Edge this year now that they're 11. Should be a great time!

Ok gang- now that we have the group picture details narrowed down let's jump back to the Dis Meet and see if we can get those plans set!

The traditional meet time for the Dis Meet is embarkation day at 3PM. Does everybody want to go with that?

As far as location, since we will be having the group picture in the Atrium Lobby on the Staircase I thought keeping the location nearby would work best.

In reading a TR from one of the Memorial Day cruisers they used the Vista Cafe on Deck 4 midship overlooking the lobby. It looks like the perfect location to me. It was large enough to accommodate their group, perfect location, quiet and not busy plus free pastries are available and of course drinks can be purchased.

Here is a link to the post of TR which includes several pictures of the cafe and surrounding area and also the view down into the atrium.

I think this might be the perfect spot!

What is everyone's opinions on the Dis meet time and location possibilities? :goodvibes

Since this seems to sound good for everyone, lets do it.:thumbsup2 I updated our post one with this info.

So I hope everyone can make it to The Vista Cafe on Deck 4 at 3pm on embarkation day. Then we can all make our way down to the grand staircase in the Atrium Lobby at 3:30pm for our group photo.

I can't wait for this cruise and to meet everyone!

Thanks for setting this up. I think that's a good plan, and I'm looking forward to meeting the group! I didn't make it to the DISMeet on our Alaskan cruise because it was held the night before the cruise at a nearby restaurant. This will be fun!

I know we're getting near the end of the FE sign-ups. There was some discussion a while back about how / whether we were going to divide up the list into smaller groups. Did we ever come to a conclusion about that?

I think it was mentioned that anyone that joins the FE after July 22, a new list would be started. People on list A wouldn't be required to do gifts for people on list B, unless they choose to do so.

Is this right, anyone know?

Don't forget the deadline to sign up for FE is quickly approaching...July 22nd!! If you want to join, PM nenner1 or post here to sign up. We have a great group already!

Yep, you've got it. :thumbsup2
Late sign ups would automatically be part of list B. Then anyone from list A who wants to participate in both lists can join list B as well. I'm sure we'll be part of both lists.:goodvibes

Wow, that is coming quick!

Actually you'd need to pm Nenner1. If you post it on the thread, she may not see it.

If we get a huge influx of people added prior to 7/22, is there a thought to split the original list as well?

Last time I checked, I believe we had 29 staterooms.

I think the decision will be posed once we get to the cut off date.

I can't imagine we are going to get a huge influx over the next few days. If we do we could certainly look into ways of lightening the load for those who'd prefer that.

One idea would be to move those who don't want to do the full list to the late-comer list "B". On our last cruise that one only had about 15 rooms, so that may be a little more manageable for those who feel a little overwhelmed by 29+ rooms.

The main problem I see with splitting the list altogether is some may feel very left out when they see that "awesome gift" that someone handed out in group one and the people in group two didn't get that "awesome gift".

Jen is very flexible and if the majority want to do smaller lists, I'm sure she be happy to figure something out.

I will do whatever the majority wants to..That said, I think it is manageable at 30 rooms...

And I will be there at the meet- dh and dd may not join as they will most likely be at the pool.

I also think that 30 rooms is mangeable. I got a new lap top today and i also got a back pack to go with it. The back pack is what is called a business pack,it has seveal pockets of diffence sizes for things like a cell phone pens and such.

Whew! Well. I've had a week to get back into the swing of things and back used to working nights after a wonderful week of mingling with day people! LOL! Can't wait for my next opportunity to be normal again- this cruise! ;)

(No, no Abby Lee Miller on vacation! Thank goodness- it was crazy enough without her!:rotfl2:)

Julie, I'm glad to hear things went well for Alex. And Dustin, I'm glad your father did well in his surgery too! I hope both are healing and recovering well!:goodvibes

I know we're getting near the end of the FE sign-ups. There was some discussion a while back about how / whether we were going to divide up the list into smaller groups. Did we ever come to a conclusion about that?

Well, we have a few more days left and based on questions and discussion via PM I expect to add at least one, maybe two more staterooms before the deadline. Right now we have 30 Staterooms and 95 Participants.

As far as a split- if the majority of the group prefers it, I have no problem with it. However, I think 30-32 Staterooms is reasonable and easily doable over the course of the cruise but my previous FE groups have been MUCH bigger so to me 30 seems like a piece of cake! LOL! ;) I'm open to discussion about it! :thumbsup2

As the deadline comes and goes I will be opening a new group for FE- this will be Group B or the "Latecomers". I'm sure we will have some, especially with our cruise not being sold out and with decent GTY rates still out there. Group B will participate with other Group B Staterooms. Having an A and B already is another reason I'd like to hold off on a split of the A group if we can. It can get a little confusing.

:) Jen

Ok... Sorry if this sounds like a ridiculous question... But, this is my first Disney cruise, and I'm still learning alot!! About the FE gifts.. Is it suppossed to be 1 gift to each cabin (or each person in each cabin) PER DAY... Or is it just One per cabin (or per person)... It would seem like ALOT If it's per day... I'm imagining running around every day to 30different cabins... Lol... My brain couldn't handle that!!! :scared::rotfl:
