September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Hi all, we are all booked! I didn't know if anyone has some good ideas for shore excursions on st Thomas ans st marteen for a family with 3 kids under 4, with the youngest being 6 months (she might stay on ship) but the older two are 2 and 4. Thanks

The 4-year-olds in this group could have their own club it seems. My daughter is 4 and will be a month shy of 5 when we sail.

Best of luck finding things that works for your whole family.

In St. Maarten, We're considering Random Wind. http://www.randomwind.com/

or the See and Sea Island tour has caught my eye. But the price seems steep for what you get.

Otherwise I don't think we'll do anything formal in St. Maarten.

So far I'm leaning toward Butterfly Anytime in St. Thomas.

The bird show sounds like it would be fun too.
My daughter and I enjoyed visiting a butterfly conservatory and a bird show last winter.

With my daughter we're not planning a whole lot. She just wants to play in the sand & build sandcastles.

Anyone know if or where there are public beaches on the Dutch side? Seems everyone/excursions want to go over to the French side - and take a 30 minute ride just to get to the beach. :confused3

I believe they make them take off the water shoes...we are hitting a water park here in south Florida and I will be interested to see how she measures there since many slides are 42" . BTW- hope you didn't get much flooding where you are..My brother works at Tampa General and practically had to take his canoe to work..

We were ok. Lots of flooding in the area but we were spared. Thanks for asking.

I don't think Sarah will have any problem reaching the 42", she is about 42 1/4" now. I just remember on one of our Royal Caribbean cruises my son was right at the 60" required to stand up surf on Flowrider. He stood right up against it and he was clearly right at 60", but one of the employees said no he was just a hair short. He was so bummed.

There are a couple of beach options pretty close to where we dock. There is Great Bay which is just a 5 minute water taxi ride from the dock. Nice view of the ship, but people have stated that the bay is polluted. I don't know that first hand and it seems to be highly debated on cruise critic. You can also catch a cab over to Little Divi Bay Resort which is one bay over and about a 15 minute or less cab ride. These beaches are only OK compared to the beaches on the French side.

BTW, we will be on the Random Wind. So if you choose that option I'm sure our 4 year olds will have a great time together. As you know it does have a beach stop or two to build sandcastles.:goodvibes

Our cruise will be paid off today. Yeah !!!!!!!!!!1:hippie::woohoo:

I paid my cruise off in march and now i'm check in. Gor to do that saturady night because i live on the west cost. Got everything that i wanted including Palo brunch and dinner and i got remy. I hope that i do not miss AP where you get to drawl a pircture. I have to say that i wouldn't care if i missed enchanded garden. The meun isn't that great. Oh well because my airline has me on a flight that dosen't arrive into orlando until 12:20 am Friday morning i went head and booked another night at POR. I was wondering if i should drop my deluxe dinning plan and go with the reguar dinning plan? I have ARDs for goofy's 50's prime time cafe and cinderella's. I alo have the afternoon tea at the grand floridaian, I'm thinking about cancelling 50s prime time cafe because the tea is at 3:40 and 50's is at 1:30 and cinderella's is at five fifteen. I've seen the tea menu and it's all most like a light lunch. So i'm so confused:confused3as what to do.

I really need to catch up and will, just wanted to check in and say youngest ds's bone graft surgery was successful. His face is extremely swollen (looks horrible), but the big hole from his mouth to his nose is closed. He has two IV lines into his hips were they harvested bone which send pain relief meds directly to where they took the bone, but he's still really sore.

He's on a liquid diet (and it's killing him). Isn't getting around well, and is sore. So would appreciate continued pixie dust, prayers, and good thoughts. He sees the plastic surgeon on Tuesday (and I love the plastic surgery team), and the oral surgeon next week. Only a few more scheduled major operations, but with this kid, you can't tell.

And for those of you who cruised with us on the 2008 double dip and remember our crappy urologist, who didn't listen to me when I told him ds was really sick, there were issues, and we almost didn't make the cruise because he thought I was a hysterical mother until ds ended up in the ER with a fever of 105 and being delirious-- the plastic surgery team is so much better: respectful, professional, and they know I'm not a nut job, and know I do research and am diligent about my job as mom to a chronically ill kid.

And you see that we scheduled the surgery way far in advance of the trip, having learned our lesson that five weeks isn't enough for recovery.

Very happy to hear the surgery was a success! I hope he heals up and feels better quickly.

Thanks all for the well wishes. I'm sure if ds knew what was going on on the internet, he'd appreciate it.

Can't wait for this cruise. Really can't wait.

My son and I did the tea at Grand Floridian a couple of years ago. For us it was definitely a meal. A pretty long relaxing meal at that and a great experience. I'm not quite sure if you could even finish tea and get to Cinderella's in time. Enjoy yourself :goodvibes

I wanna join in on the fun, too! It'll be me (Amanda--age 24), and my parents. We're celebrating their 25th anniversary AND my dad's birthday (on the 23rd!). This is also our first cruise, and we have main dining. We're in Stateroom 11000. :)

News About Remy Brunch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone. Just off the Fantasy after the incredible 6/23 to 6/30 western. DW and I did Remy brunch and found out some exciting news. First, the brunch is now permanent on the Fantasy on the last sea day for all itineraries. Second, and this is the big one:

Remy brunch is going to the Dream!

I overheard the head chef tell another couple about this, and it was confirmed by both our server and the manager of Remy. The head chef left Saturday for vacation. When he returns, he's bringing brunch to the Dream. They didn't give a specific date to expect it.

Also, they are purposefully not advertising the brunch. They told me the brunch is filling up with just the word of mouth from the "internet sites" that have posted the information. It can still only be scheduled on board, so get to Remy quickly to reserve your spot.

DD turned 6 yesterday and today at a water park she finally measured 42":cheer2: She can go on the AquaDuck!!! She has always been small and through our many trips to WDW she has not been able to go on a lot of the rides she wanted to but we are so excited to do it together in Sept!!! Whoever suggested stretching ---it worked;)
