September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

We love just eating and drinking our way around the World Showcase. There are foods, beers and wines that we probably wouldn't try at home so it is great fun! At least one day of the 3 1/2 days we have at the World after the cruise we will do just that. When you say 'new restaurant' in Italy what one are you referring to? We love the Italian pavillion!

Wendy

The restaurant in Italy is now under new ownership with a new name, Tutto Italia.

Here's the release:
Tutto Italia, which means "Everything Italy," will be the interim name of the restaurant replacing L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante at the Italy Pavilion at Epcot. As we previously reported, Alfredo's will close on August 31. Tutto Italia, under the management of the Patina Restaurant Group, should open on September 1. In Spring 2008, the restaurant will close and undergo a complete refurbishment. It will reopen in the fall with a new, yet-to-be-determined name.

Sophie and I are doing The Party for The Seasons and the South African Wine Adventure... :thumbsup2

Wow, that will be wonderful. We had talked about the Party for the Senses too, but it was tough to justify the money when we opted not to do V&A. It sounds like a true feeding and drinking frenzy. :drinking:

Eva,

Hey, that's cool! Thanks for the info. I need to get on the ball and Disney dining for a reservation. I hope it is not too late. It seems that during the Wine and Food Festival all of the really great resturants really get packed.
Do you have certain resturants that are a must each time you are at WDW?

Wendy

Karen, Kathy loves to watch the comedy series, "Last of the summer wine." Does the little guy ever get his true love, Nora Batty? We used to watch "Are you being served?" Enjoyed that series also. Mike

I don't think so, Mike. Sadly the actor who played Compo died a few years ago tho' the series has continued. It's what all British comedy actors over 60 have to look forward to... ;)

I loved that one. :thumbsup2 The guy who played Captain Peacock is now in, wait for it, Last of the Summer Wine! :)

Thanks Eva! :thumbsup2 Hope Sophie and I get to try it when we're there...

It is quite pricey but with Sophie paying her share, it doesn't feel so bad somehow. ;) Plus we figured we're unlikely to make it to another Food & Wine for a few years... :goodvibes

I printed our Door Signs last night. Next step is trim to fit into the flexible magnet frame.

Still need to iron on decal to lime green tshirt.

and of course go thru suitcases to determine what I need to take this time or leave at home. I didn't really unpack except clothes from the 3 night cruise as figured most if not all will on 7 night. Oh yeah need to add toiletries along with clothes.

Minn is basically packed and has been since returned from June cruise. She just added more princess dresses for dinner, and few more play outfits for daytime.

My clothes are in one end of closet so they need ironing, then packing.

Oh and great news NOT!!!! I was informed today my employer is terminating me as of Oct 5th. Was told my disability is impacting the needs of the programs. Ummm news to me. Oh yeah and my position is going to require even more traveling and company is weary of me traveling and they can't make further accommadations. So I either go on short term disability, then long term while applying for SSDI.

Or maybe my Voc Rehab counselor can help me get another job making something close to what I make now. I doubt it, i mean doubt the salary. Hey maybe I can work for Disney World, or Disney Cruise!!!!! Pay won't put much food on table, yet wow would be fun working for Disney.

Boy I need this cruise more now than ever. Grieving for couple years of losing ability to walk, recent death of my mother and now know I am losing my job <G> I don't drink but maybe I need to start on the cruise LOL.

not much longer gang. oh is anyone coming in Friday night and staying at Residence Inn? Ellouise and I will be there Friday night. They also allow you to leave a car parked there while on cruise with no fees.

Ok let's just this cruising going <G>

OMG Marsha! It don't rain but it pours for you lately, my friend!   Any way you can appeal against your employer's decision????

You definitely do need this cruise! Sending you more  and pixiedust: - and I'm always happy to order a couple of Bahama Mamas... ;)

I will wait to see what I get in writing if anything. Going thru our company grievance would do nothing since it would go to the ppl that were part of this decision. I guess there would or should be someone else to file the grievance with, but at this point, not sure I would even want to continue working for this company.

The irony of all of this, is our company provides services to the disable LOL Yet I guess my disability causes the company problems. I guess I have missed something as I didn't expect this and was totally shocked this morning.

But ya know when one window or door closes another window or door opens. Who knows this could be a blessing in diguise.

Ok let's just get this cruise going:dance3:

I was unable to access the dis for most of the day. Did get some good news, my documents shipped yesterday and we should be receiving them on the 7th.

Mike

No documents in Canada yet.:headache:

I hope they get here soon because the DD is about to burst with excitement waiting upon them.
We fly into Orlando the 21st about noon. We are planning to do the MNSSHP, but we can't decide how to get to WDW. DCL is putting us up in the Hyatt for the night. So we were thinking of renting a car for the day. That way we could drive to WDW and do some cruiseship supply shopping as well.
Any recommendations on whether to rent a car or take a cab to MCO to WDW from anyone. We cannot make up our mind.

Hi everyone, just checking in. I haven't been on here much lately as I have started to feel pregnant with all of the aches and pains. Trying to read all of the posts.

Marsha- I am sorry to hear about your job! We are coming into MCO on Friday the 21st and are staying at the Residence Inn at port. I think our flight gets in around 5:30ish and we are renting a car.

Little one is crying so I will be back later.:)

Michelle, We have to look out for each other Friday night, and Friday morning at their breakfast buffet.

I should arrive at the hotel about the time you are landing at Orlando.

Hope to meet you guys at the hotel even before cruising.

We will be at the Country Inn and Suites for when you guys need a place to crash after being to rowdy at the Radisson.

Also IMHO the italian restaurant across the street from the Radisson is not very good.

Big Day today

DD turned 5 :earsboy:

First day of Pre-school :teacher:

Work party at track. Won $100 woo-hoo :woohoo:

Went out to dinner and lost $38 :confused3

No room upgrade :confused3

No documents :headache:

A/C stopped working.

Just a Blown circuit board. :cool2:

Disboard Site out

Disboard Site back :cool2:

17 days til cruise.... Priceless :rotfl2:

Marsha...OH MY :confused3 I love your positive twist on what's happening... You do NEVER know what may be around the next corrner...this very well could be a blessing in hidding. I sure hope so. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

thanks. I am checking out several options of actions I can do i.e. see if VR can assist me getting another job, trying on my own to get another job, going on disability although this is my least favorite thought. I may require a electric wheelchair to get around but there is nothing wrong that should keep me from doing a job, even my current job. But if my company doesn't want my skills, then so be it. Some place out there just may.

So I will think out options, check them out, take some actiong, etc....

And of course week of cruising will not be time of thinking of just losing my mother and my job. Just a time to relax and have fun <G> Hey at least I don't have to worry about returning to work on the Monday after cruise LOL
