September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Good to see you posting Marsha.

Have to begin the packing process, as Kathy is working for about 10 nights of the time remaining before the cruise. We are trying to cut down on the amount of luggage that we are taking this time.

I guess that it will be Tuesday at the earliest that we can begin looking for our documents, as Monday is a holiday. Mike

Mike,

I could use some tips to 'cut down the amount of luggage', 'Got Advice'?

Wendy

P.S. My favorite thing about going on vacation is: SOMEONE ELSE IS DOING ALL OF THE COOKING! :woohoo:

Easiest tip is to get a smaller car. Smaller car=less space for luggage:lmao: that is what we did. Went from a Saturn Vue suv to a Toyota Prius. It is a case of have to now with us Wendy. Mike

I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend.

19 Days!!!!!!
But who's counting? :rotfl:

It is getting a bit crazy around here. Steve will be on a business trip this entire week. Then next weekend we will be painting DMIL's kitchen. The following week Steve is gone Monday through Thursday again on business. The weekend before leaving we will be doing the tile in the kitchen. Then on the 17th our DGD will be having her adenoids removed and tubes put in her ears. And then I leave for a business trip the afternoon of the 17th. And the kicker, I will get back very late on the 19th! Since we leave at noon on the 20th, I hope I have enough time to do a quick load of laundry and finish packing. At least the trip should be here before we know it.

Marsha, It is great to read a post from you. I hope all is well! :flower3:

Hello everyone!

Received a package from UPS this morning but instead of cruise documents, it was confirmation from Disney's Fairytale Weddings! So nearly as exciting!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1:

So does that mean if we go from a Saturn Vue (which we truly have) to a Miata that my DH will be in shock at the lack of luggage we (I) have? :lmao:

Acutally, I was think of going from the Saturn Vue to one of those luxury size motor hom coaches! (just to get us to the airport of course):rotfl2:
Ahhhhh...Can you imagine all of the luggage you could get in one of those babys?

This cruise is not coming fast enough; We have resorted to watching the DCL DVD again just to get an early fix. :)

Eva,

Wow, you must be 'Super Packer' to come home from one trip and get packing done for another trip so fast!? We will be flying out from Oakland CA on 9/20 8:30a.m. but we won't get to Key West Resort until about 8:30p.m. as we have layover in Dallas. Where are you staying for the
20th and 21st? Did you mention in an earlier posting that you were going to the MNSSHP? We were thinking about going on Friday night as we have never been.

Well Wendy, it shouldn't be too awful bad. I doubt if I will be taking much of my business attire on the cruise. :rotfl2: I think I might do what Mike does and use disposable underwear for the business trip. ;) I was just thinking of that this morning. If I do that I won't need to do laundry when I get home. So if I pack before leaving for the sales meetings, I'll be ready to go when I get back. I'll just need to repack the toiletries and off I go! :woohoo:

Bob, Thanks for the link to the parasailing. We are not doing it on CC but are trying it at WDW. I think it will be so cool flying over the MK and the lake. Hope I don't chicken out.

For those of you going to WDW after the cruise, do you have any special plans? Does anyone have reservations for events at the Food and Wine Festival? We are just doing the Food and Wine Pairing at the new restaurant in Italy. Since it is our first time, we decided to use most of our time trying the different tidbits and wines (or beers) as you walk around WS.

Sophie and I are doing The Party for The Seasons and the South African Wine Adventure... :thumbsup2

We are going to the parks after the cruise. Have planned to go to blizzard beach typhoon lagoon, and miniature golf. Mike

HI everyone,

Weve been at the cottage for 11 days sitting on the dock practicing for DCL vacation. Doing lots of nothing:thumbsup2

We see that everyone has been busy posting, and if it makes some of you feel better we have not received any documents in Canada yet! Were going to be checking every day now...

Mike, I must tell you. We did both Blizzad Beach and Typhoon lagoon and loved them both. At Typhoon lagoon you have do the swimming with the sharks. Most excellent eh! Hopefully were not swimming with any in CC.

Happy Labour day to you all!

We love just eating and drinking our way around the World Showcase. There are foods, beers and wines that we probably wouldn't try at home so it is great fun! At least one day of the 3 1/2 days we have at the World after the cruise we will do just that. When you say 'new restaurant' in Italy what one are you referring to? We love the Italian pavillion!

Hello Everyone!! It has been so long since I have been on the boards, I really need to catch up!! Just thought I would pop in and say hi while a had a few minutes...between work, football & cheeleading - and school starting back up, I have been running like crazy!! We are not doing anything special. We do like to walk around sampling the various foods. We were going to do the Party for the Senses with the kids, but the 'other' relatives are in town and they could not attend. So, we are having our traditional 1st nite dinner at the California Grill and taking the kids to the MNSSHP on Sunday. Really miss the granddaughters. Maybe one year we can take them on a cruise. The excuse will be to give their parents a break and we hope they will buy that thought... :rolleyes1

OK I thought I read somewhere that if you are staying at WDW before the cruise you can check in at the resort??? Or is that only if you did the land/sea package? Which we didn't do because it was cheaper to do it separately!

18 days and counting til the Cruise!

14 days til we go to WDW!!

I do believe that is only if your doing the Land/Sea package. We stayed at WDW before our last cruise and nothing was ever mentioned about checking in at the resort. You'd just about have to do everything again at the terminal anyways....hand your luggage off and go through security and maybe even go to the check in desk to hand over your immagration forms..Anyways just being a WDW resort guest won't get you checked in to the ship any sooner. It's really no biggy...have your paper work done ahead of time and it should go smooth..and fast.

Plans for after the cruise...we are going to WDW but for only one night :sad2: We're planning on doing Blizzard beach the day we get off the ship....then fly home EARLY on Sunday. It'll be our first time doing the water parks....;)

We pulled out our suitcases yesterday...and started packing:scared1: So far so good. The pile looks totally overwhelming...but I think by the time we get everything put in its place and weeded out it'll be much better.

Oh...which reminds me on tips for packing less. Pack outfits that can be mixed and plan on wearing somethings more than once. I don't know about you all...but for me when I get dressed up for dinner I'll wait until the last moment possable...then hurry back to the room right after dinner to change into something more comfy. Therefore really only wearing the dinner wear for maybe 2 hours.... Thinking about what I used for the cruises in the past the majorty of it was swimwear and coverups. But trying to convence myself that all need to pack now is swimwear and a coverup is proving to be quite difficulte.

Info Perhaps.

I just spoke to my TA.

She said cruise is pretty full and there are several rooms with guarantee rates. And several of the guarantee rates have not been assigned rooms yet.

Also the waitlist for Main dining has not been released yet.

Not sure if this info is helpful or not but it is fun to try to read into.
