September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Well, this sound like my kind of approach. Unfortunately, my doctor just told me on Wednesday that my cholesterol is 238. I am going back in two weeks for a fasting blood test and hope that it is much lower. Since my Dad had high cholesterol and died of a heart attack at 54, I am taking this pretty serious. Kind of makes me mad that I have been on a good diet and quit smoking almost 4 months ago and this happens. I only have 10 more pounds to lose to be at what my doctor considers the perfect weight for my height. Oh well, enough of the pity party!

That's tough, Eva! Good luck with the fasting blood test - fingers crossed your cholesterol improves. My DH has to take his heart health seriously too - his father died of a coronary aged 48... :sad2:

I am actually afraid if I go get the car and come back they may ditch me.
So we travel as a group. Maybe I should re-think my excursions.
My DW did recently make sure my Term Life was paid up.

Sounds like you should be afraid - very afraid!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

When I went to the doctor to get my blood sugar checked, 2 years ago it was 538. Now since I am on medication it runs around 110-120. Cholesterol wasn't bad-340.:lmao:

Yikes! Do they have you on medication for the cholesterol, Mike? I can't believe that they are talking about putting me on Lipitor just from one blood test at 238. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Bareacuda, Congratulations on coming down 77 points. I know, I still have 10 to 12 pounds to go too. And I won't be model thin at that weight either. I know that I need more exercise to get over this last few pounds.

I tried to post a second post at 2:00 am this morning :surfweb:, but the site was having some fits. I was just checking in to see who else made their reservations for Palo and excursions. I was surprised that the DCL site allowed me to make the reservations at 1:30 am (CST). I got everything we wanted.

Also, if anyone is taking a walking tour on their own at Key West, here is a link to some maps that might be helpful:

http://www.fla-keys.com/maps/

If you scroll down on the right there is a download for a map of Key West - Old Town. It is perfect for what we plan to do.

Hi Eva,
I was just messing around on the computer last night and just by chance went onto DCL site at 10:30 pm. I was just looking. Clicked onto the Sept.22nd cruise and the ressies were open:cool1:
We got everything!!! That walking tour looks good to me. We were thinking about renting an electric car and tooling the town.

Darn it! I tried late in the afternoon, just in case. Wouldn't you know it. I was up at 10:30 too. Oh well, I did get everything I wanted. We are doing the Sea Trek at GC, the Jeep Exploration at Cozumel, and the Wave Runners at CC. Plus we have Palo on the exact day and time we wanted. I hope all CC members were as successful as the two of us!

REMINDER: If you are a CC Member or staying in a suite, don't forget to do your on line check in. It was quick and easy.

WOW!!! I guess I need to be getting on here more often lol! I had to read 5 pages to catch up! :scared1: Sounds like everyone else is getting as excited as us. It just can't come fast enough!! :rolleyes1

Sandi- The muddle?? I am thinking that I will need more than just a few mojito's to do that dance...in public lol! Maybe if I add a few miami vices?? :rotfl:

Hi everyone,

We've just returned from being at the cottage for the weekend and can't believe how many posts there has been since friday.
Seems transfers are an issue for many..... for us were flying in from Toronto on the 21st arriving at noon. DCL has us staying at the Hyatt and then they will transfer us to the boat first thing in the morning. Were trying to decide whether or not we should go to WDW for the day since were in at noon.
Get us into that Disney mood:yay: :yay:

Bareacuda,,thank you for organizing the bracelets... Lets us know when, where and how to pay you......DD very excited about those..

We can't book our excursion until July 9th... I like the idea of walking around Keywest ..:cool1: I'm that's what well do there.

Alex,
The Hyatt at MCO is rated one of the best airport hotels! I would love a day at the hotel... use the pool and have a great dinner there. There's a Disney Store just a hop - skip and a jump from the hotel.
Any way... it takes about 30 mins.(I think) from the hotel to WDW.
I'll be on the ship waiting for everyone. You can pay me then... they are $1.50 each. I'll be ordering them around the first of July. That will give me time to organize them in Dis-Family names. Like I said... Im a bit of an over planner!

Ann :flower3:

Luvalldisney and I got back this morning from a 3 night Disney cruise on the Wonder. Below are some pics of the Kids (Pal and Minn). To see more pics from the cruise visit my online photo album, link in signature.

I rebooked the Sept Cruise while onboard and rec'd the discount and onboard credit. I also changed our room to an oceanview, room 6000 which is as forward as one can go <G> But it too is HC, and I was able to see the room this morning before we left the ship. Nice size more box type room but enough room to get around in easily with chair and two people. And of course the two kids <G> :cool1:

Heard good things about Hyatt too.

You can get a runway view if you have kids to watch planes take off. Apparently it is soundproof.

Also somewhere serves some crawfish soup that is got good ratings.

Key West walking is my plan.

Gonna spend $10 pp at the aquarium which is very close to where we dock.
Also plan to hit Mallory Square and the Blonde Giraffe for some Pie.

Hey all :goodvibes I was busy last night booking our stuff...Only went for Palo as were doing all the excursions at the ports on our own. Did anyone else have troubles with the booking system? I had a HECK of a time. I kept getting a darn error message that said the system was down and to call my TA or DCL durring business hours:confused3 Finally after HOURS of trying I was able to book Palo for Brunch and dinner...and I did get the exact times and days I wanted...:thumbsup2 But it took some work.

Marsha....welcome back. Your "kids" were sooo cute. I really liked the Pirate outfits and the tourist/dis ones with the passports ;) Looks like we'll be neighbors on the cruise... we're in the forward section of the ship on deck 6 as well....we've got 3 rooms up there I believe.

So Glad you had a "Wonder"ful time on the cruise Marsha!:thumbsup2
The pics are a blast.

DH and I can find plenty of trouble to get into at KW.
Blonde Giraffe is on my list... twice!:cool1: Then out hunting for more art.
I believe you can see the planes take off and land from the hotel. One of our rooms had a beautiful view if the tarmack. I heard nothing all night long.

thanks Ann. Now I can focus on this cruise for Sept :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

i have figured out no matter if a 3 nights or 7 nights i take the same thing except a few extra outfits for 7 nights. So even on the 3 nights I look like I am taking way too much :rotfl: But ya know no matter now many nights I take things that I "MAY" need which many I haven't yet. I just know though if I don't take those things that will be the time I need one or more of those things <G>

That's exactly how I feel.
"I can always pack another pair of pants to go with that shirt. But then again if I bring that pair of shorts ... I can wear 2 different shirts!"
Im the Queen of Overing Packing princess:

This trip is going to be a big challenge for me. Packing for 3 weeks with a very limited number of luggage pieces and how to store them. Just thinking about it makes me :scared1: :faint:
