All I have to do is turn the sign around Marsha to cover it's eye:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:
Mike

i figured you would or will find away around the "EYE" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mike I couldn't resist making that from what you said about looking forward to rearranging door mag signs. ummm wonder if DCL would get upset if I used gorilla glue to put the "EYE" sign or others on the door????

somehow I imagine they would. i will just have to keep more than one "EYE" on you :rotfl2:

Ok Marsha, no need to put up more than one eye on the door.

Looking forward to seeing Key West, and maybe enjoying a beautiful sunset there.

Have to run as the oldest grand daughter will be here in a little bit and I have to fix breakfast for everyone. Mike

WELCOME Captain Jack!

Kathy, I bet the book was a bit confusing. In the first book of the series (The Cove) Dillion Savich is introduced, but he is not the main character. Sherlock is introduced in the second book (The Maze) with her and Dillion as the main characters. Ruth I was just a side character in one of her more recent books. I don't remember which one though, it might have been Blowout. I have had that same confusion off and on when I pick up a new author and find out the books build on one another. Anymore when I discover a new author I try to read the books in order. Sometimes it matters and other times it doesn't. The only problem with doing it that way is that some authors didn't write their best in the beginning. I found that was the case with Tami Hoag.

Ok Marsha, no need to put up more than one eye on the door.

Mike

ya think i may need one though for someone else? I am just teasing. Looking forward to meeting you guys esp since you are from my birth town and state. Last time I was in Nashville I couldn't believe how much it had changed since I had moved away in 1984. Only been there a few times since then. OOOO this is funny well at least to me its a funny story.

Early 90's I had to fly into Nashville. My mother was driving up from GA and going to pick me up at the airport. Well I had no idea they had built a new airport and told her to go to the one that I use to fly in/out.

When I got off the plane in Nashville, I looked around and thought I had been on the wrong plane and landed not where I was suppose to be. I had to ask red coat to be sure I was in Nashville. He just looked at me like well yeah woman where do you think you are. :goodvibes

Thankfully instead of my mother taking my directions to pick me up, our friends near Hendersonville said they would pick me up. I could just see my mother driving around where I told her to go (old airport) and then going into a panic when couldn't find the airport.

Will say the new airport was a lot bigger, and much better than the one I knew and used the years I lived in Nashville going to college there. (late 70's)

anyway, our friends, mother and I still laugh about how I thought I had taken the wrong plane and went to some other city. :rotfl2:

Maybe its one of those funny stories though that you had to be there:rotfl:

Welcome CaptainJack!

Ok, so shore excursions....I think we are just going to explore on our own in Key West. I want to go to the southernmost point and maybe the aquarium and definitely find somewhere to have lunch and a piece of key lime pie :cloud9: for any of you who have been here, do you have any recommendations/advice?

In Grand Cayman, I definitely want to snorkel somewhere. Here are the three I have saved to my wish list:
Aquaboat & Snorkel Adventure Grand Cayman
Pilot a two-person inflatable motorboat to scenic Sandy Cay and Smith's
Cove and snorkel amidst the world-famous shipwreck, the Cali.

Nautilus Undersea Tour & Reef Snorkel Grand Cayman
Surrender to the beauty below the Caribbean blue on a eye-opening journey in a semi-submarine before making a splash snorkeling alongside a sunken ship.

Shipwreck & Reef Snorkeling Grand Cayman
Uncover history as you snorkel above the 220-foot shipwreck, the Callie, before visiting a coral reef brimming with tropical fish and spectacular reef formations.

In Cozumel, here is my wish list:

Cozumel Ruins & Beach Tour Cozumel
Surrender to the mystery of the San Gervasio Mayan Ruins on this guided tour of Cozumel before discovering the white-sandy beaches of Playa Mia

Mexican Cuisine Workshop and Tasting Cozumel
Discover the secrets of authentic Mexican cooking during this delectable "hands-on" cooking course where you prepare, cook and enjoy your very own full course meal.

Speed Boat Beach Escape Cozumel
Navigate through the translucent blue ocean and explore paradise on your very own speedboat before reaching stunning Hideaway Beach for an afternoon of sun and surf.

I don't know about the ruins one. I've heard that it is a LONG HOT walk to the ruins, as well as a long drive.

In Castaway Cay, we are just going to relax at Serenity Bay....looking forward to that! :cloud9:

Anyone done any of these things or heard anything good or bad about any of them you can remember?

When I took the train/trolley tour at Key West we passed at least two places that had key lime pie.

Does anyone know if there is a place near where we dock that I could ride in my power chair to get a piece of pie? I don't remember where either place was and all the turns the tour took, I didn't know north/south/east/west much less where the ship was docked <G>

thanks

Marsha here is a site that might be able to help you further. http://www.keywest.com/ Not sure if there is a website with all the wheelchair accessible info for Key West or not. Mike

Thanks Mike. Deifinitely will check it out. Even if I can't take the "paid" tour I imagine I can find a way to a key lime place. This link may help me find where places are and where I could go on own. again thanks

FYI I will be away from my computer until Monday afternoon. Friends coming in town so I will be staying with them at hotel near WDW. It's too cold (for us here in FL) to be going to WDW this weekend <G> Sure we will find a way to stay warm, or even lots of inside places to go rather than outside attractions.

Everyone have a safe and warm weekend. See ya MOnday afternoon/night.

Melody, we had thought about the Speed Boat Beach Escape in Cozumel too. But our plans may end up taking a drastic change. The doctor just put me on a new medication yesterday that says to avoid sun exposure. Yikes! How will I do that on a cruise? I don't consider myself a true sun worshipper, but I had planned on a couple hours by the pool or on the beach each day. We'll still be on the cruise, but our plans while on the cruise may have to change a bit.

Eva, maybe you should call the Dr's office and ask them about your cruise plans. Maybe if you use the highest power sunblock it would be alright for you to be out in the sun for a few hours at a time.

It should be nice and warm in September in Key West. Marsha, there should be someplace there on Duvall street to get a piece of Key Lime Pie. Mike

Hello all. This will be our first cruise (not counting my Navy time). I have been told I will enjoy this more. Looking forward to meeting you all and gleaning tips from your posts.

We will be in Stateroom 7572 and have late dining.

Hello Bob and Penny!!!! Nice to have you along - sorry for the delay in welcoming you but I've been away in Paris for the last week...
Hmm, let me see - sitting on deck 10 for most of the day, trying the drink of the day (OK, trying several drinks of the day!!).......:woohoo:

Kathy
:woohoo: That's sounds like a place I'd like to be... :thumbsup2
! He has to drag me on TOT at MGM. I'm not good with heights.
My fave ride ever!!!! ;)

Ok I am on a run on posts:

Curious how many going on this cruise have gone before with others on this cruise? So like its a second cruise with same ppl besides family, but more ppl you have met here on the DIS boards?

Also if anyone visits WDW and would like to meet even to just say Hi let me know. I live about 30 mins from WDW and go as often as possible. I am so spoiled <G>
Marsha - you are soooo lucky!!!! I won't be visiting WDW directly after/before the cruise BUT I will be in WDW with my DD24 in October and my DS14 in December so maybe we can say hi...? :cheer2:

Marsha aka Brady, I am an avid reader. What types of books do you enjoy reading? I like mysteries, suspence, and crime-FBI type novels. Some of my favorite authors are: James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Kay Hooper (Not the romance novels, she has a series about an FBI unit that have paranormal talents.), Shephen White, Tammie Hoag (again not the romance novels), Catherine Coulter's FBI series. Oh I could go on, but that probably gives you an idea of my taste. My biggest problem is that I end up reading everything my favorites have out and then I have to go hunt for a new author to read. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great!

Another keen reader here - love some of the authors you have suggested Eva...:thumbsup2

Karen, we have to start a book club on the cruise. :thumbsup2

I missed a newbie family????
Welcome Bob and Penny! No Navy duty on this cruise:cool1: Someone else cleans the toilet and someone sneeks in and makes your bed!
We'll all have a great time on this cruise!
:welcome: to Mickey's Gang!

Ann

Welcome home to all our weary travelers. Mike

Welcome Penny. also looking forward to Sept and hoping to meet as many Dissers at least to say hi.

Just love when you find clothes on sale. I bought a semi formal last year that was 70 percent off. how could I pass that up right?

I too live in Orlando and little spoiled being so close to WDW. Do your grandchildren here get to visit WDW much?

Hi Marsha! Our granddaughters are still little - 2-1/2 and 10 months - but yes, they go to WDW a lot with Mom & Dad. The kids went to college in Daytona and used to go to WDW every chance they got, got married there in 2001, and moved to Orlando from Northern Virginia in 2005 with their first daughter (age 1):sad1:

We made our first trip to WDW in December 2000 - delayed honeymoon - and have been back five times since then, joined DVC in 2003, and added points last year :) The dilemma is - having the kids there - we have to see them, and we love to see them ... but we feel like we've lost our Disney "escape" because they're there ... hence the cruise! And we can't wait! The cruise will be our escape -- then a week at VWL and seeing the kids will be the family time!
