I Love Mexican vanilla... always have it on hand... clear for light color baking(like sugar cookies) and the dark for the other baking

I think my pantries would be empty if there wasnt at least 1 bottle in there somewhere.

I did find the Frommer's ports of call book at Barnes & Noble. As a matter of fact, I picked up the last one in the Peoria, IL store. It is the 2007 version that was published fall of 2006. And it does included Cozumel. It was a couple of dollars more than Amazon, but I didn't have to wait for it to arrive. I'm going to read up on the ports for the Western and then slip it in my suitcase, just in case.

I'm really looking forward to our cruise and time at WDW this coming fall. But we are also planning an Alaska cruise for June of 2008. So I picked up a couple of books on Alaska cruises too. I decided to read those books first because we are going to book as soon as the prices are released (probably April). In the Frommer's book on Alaska cruises it states that you can save 25-50% off by booking that early. The planning for that trip is really confusing me. There are just way to many choices on cruiselines and ships. And we have to coordinate the trip with a number of family members.

Karen, I read about the vow renewal on a thread over on the cruise board. It sounds wonderful. Were you able to get it for the $1,000 they mentioned? Or did the price go up already? It sounds like they really pamper you during the entire cruise.

Mike, I agree on the $4 coffee for a preschooler. As a matter of fact, I usually apply that to myself. I occasionally get a fancy coffee drink, but normally I just buy plain coffee or tea. Some of those drinks can reach $5 and I really don't need the extra calories. I also agree with you about going to WDW after the cruise. I know a lot of people do it in reverse. I think it depends on how often you have been to WDW. We have been so many times that we just go and relax, seeing just our favorite things in the park. Out of a week we are probably only in the parks 2-3 days total.

...I am going to stop by Barnes and Noble to look through them a bit first. That is one of my favortie past-times. DH and I go there every couple of weeks to browse through books and have a coffee at Starbuck's. The only problem is that I normally can't get out of there without spending at least a couple hundred dollars on books and cds.

I love browsing in a good bookshop but unfortunately, since the advent of online shopping, I don't do it as much as I used to. That's definitely the sort of date I'd like to have with my DH on a regular basis...

Eva, the vow renewal is going to cost $1000 which, knowing how much this kind of thing costs in the UK, is a real bargain as far as DH and I are concerned. We might even add on a photo package/upgrade the champagne but we don't mind as our original wedding was an extremely low-key penny-pinching affair...

I really hope my DH enjoys the cruise as he's very keen to visit the Antarctic and it seems to me that cruising would be the most straightforward way to do that - might have to see if there are any books on that subject out there...

Karen and Eva we live about 2 miles from a Barnes and Noble bookstore. Love to go there and just browse. Kathy and I do not do the expensive coffee. We are kind of stick in the mud types. Regular coffee does us very well.

It was 12 degrees F , -11 degrees C with wind chill temperatures of 1 degree F, -17 C here in Nashville this morning.

Ewe...That sounds COLD!!! We're up to 29F now... almost shorts weather I'm not sure how cold it got last night but the weather man did say it'd be in the "teens" this week

We don't have a Barn and Noble around here...but I think I'll take a trip down to Boarders today to take another peek at what they have.

Kathy's daughter in law works at one of the local border's customer service centers. She is a sweet little girl, just an inside joke.

Have to run and check on my pot roast in the oven. Fixing green beans, mashed potatoes and a skillet of cornbread to go along with it. Mike

Yep - it is really cold here! Just the walk from the train to my office building was brutal. It did not seem too bad this afternoon though. Boy, sitting on deck 10 with a Bahama Mama or Miami Vice would be nice right now!! Hey! Maybe I will have to make a Miami Vice this weekend while partying and watch the Superbowl game!! It will be one game that I watch the game more than the commercials!! LOL!! I cannot wait!! GO BEARS!!!! Does anyone have the recipe for the Miami Vice????

Just wanted to say hello to everyone! My DH just came into the office and saw that I was reading my Passporter's Field Guide (just got it in the mail today!) and on the cruise boards and told me I was "Cruise Crazy" I suppose he's right

Mike, every time I see that little grand daughter of yours with her little curl on her head, it just makes me smile. What a cutie! Actually, you have two very beautiful little grand daughters.

Hmmm, everyone talking about drinks is making me thirsty. The one drink that we order everytime is a BBC. Even with all the cold and snow, that one still sounds good.

Sorry Kathy, but GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Eva, we are quite fond of them. The oldest told me this afternoon when I picked her up from preschool; "I need to go home and watch my shows!" She was talking about the noggin channel. Just like an older person watching their soap operas.

Hi there Marshmelo! That makes me Cruise Crazy too - my desk is strewn with PassPorter guides! I have the current one, DH found an old one my DD bought me back in 2005 for my 1st cruise, plus she gave me a PassPorter guide for WDW at the weekend - WOW!!!

Eva, what's a BBC - other than the British Broadcasting Corp, of course...

Karen, It is fantastic. I think DH and I had one by the pool every day on the last cruise. I'm also looking forward to some of the specialty martinis that everyone keeps talking about on the boards too. DH is pretty much a beer and ale man with a glass of wine here and there. But he'll drink those BBC's until they about make him sick.
