Are you guys going to book now what you want or wait for rates?
I am very new to waiting for codes, FD, etc. I own DVC but we are staying in a deluxe and want to get the best rate I can.
Please let me know what you plan on doing and looking for.

I'm waiting. We've gone late August to mid Sept almost every year for about 15 years. I've never paid rack rate. Always had some kind of promo.

EDIT: We also stay deluxe. That time frame is considered value season for deluxe resorts.

Dh and I are planning to go the first week in September next year. I'll be celebrating my _0 birthday, but probably will not be there on the exact date. We are hoping for free dining, so we are keeping our options open right now. Our dates can be flexible since we are planning to drive.

What if there is a room-only discount that would be more worth than the free-dining?

Can I add the dining plan to that reservation without loosing the room-only discount?

I just noticed you own DVC. Are you planning this as a cash vacation? I don't own DVC but as far as I know, you can't use DVC points for free dining or resort discounts.

Confusing..

An existing reservation can be converted to free dining if there is availability at your resorts for your dates. Just having an existing reservation does not guarantee you'll get free dining. Each resort has different availability on different dates. Some might have only premium views available, some standard rooms etc. Some might not have any availability, if they are already pretty well booked. But if your resort is available, yes you can change an existing package reservation to free dining.

A full priced room only reservation would be cancelled & rebooked as a package to get free dining.

If a % off room discount is offered, it might be a better option at a deluxe resort. You would have to work the numbers for your family. It is only DH & I traveling, so a % off discount is usually a better deal for us. Now if you have 5 people in your room & everyone has to pay the adult dining plan rate, free dining might be a better deal for your family.

And a "room only discount" can be booked as a package with the dining plan included. You just get the discount on the room portion of the package & pay full price for your tickets & dining plan.

FI and I will be there the 22-29th on our honeymoon. I'm hoping for a discount on the Poly. If not we'll be staying at POR. Come on discounts!

We just returned and booked the FD BB for Sept. 15 thru 21st!

We are going in September as well. Not sure exactly which week yet. My husband will not let me book yet, he's so not a planner!

If some sort of discount comes out I will, but if not I will wait until Feb/March.

We will be going regardless of a discount
