Seems there are a lot of PINs coming out right now for Sept. I got a 30%. I received it in snail mail. It had April dates on it. I called and it still applied for Sept.

Everyone is talking about "March 1," but at this point I think that date is more rumor than solid information. What a letdown it would be if March 1 came and went and there were no discounts offered that day!

I hope the rumor is true, and that the discount will be for FD in Sept!

Sadly, I agree with you on this. Not nearly the amount of "chatter" before a discount is released.

i will die if they dont announce something on the 1st. I'm trying to decide if i should go ahead and start making a couple ADR's at the 180 mark even if i havnt booked a vacation yet. we won't go without a discount but really wanna do CRT and maybe another character meal, not sure yet.

Well I called and didn't have a pin, but the CM told me that if I had one it would have shown up when I called and he would have told me but he checked anyway. He did ask me a bunch of questions though, like when was the last time I was there. Hopefully I'll get a surprise in the mail!

Masim- My husband thinks I'm insane also. He always says to me "your on those disboards again?" "How can someone plan a vacation for an entire year?" I hope we all get good news on March 1. We are going in Sept but think we might try the dolphin this time but if fd comes out, I might change to CSR. Big decisions.

kandb--I mistakenly told my girlfriend that I've already changed my reservations about 5 times, and am still waiting for FD! She can not get this and says--make your plans and then forget it till your vacation! Not everyone gets this! I think my husband is ready to have me committed! especially since he is not a big disney fan. he is doing this for our granddaughter, he would walk on water for her. I'm alright with that--it get's me back to disney!

We always Go September for fd and never book right away after the promo is announced. Are you trying to get a special room? The only reason I want to book soon is because if we don't get a good enough discount for poly I want to do royal rooms and they are so limited that I want to book them this week as soon as dh gets paid.

While fd rooms are limited and do sell out I'm sure you have several weeks leeway no need for the day off. I even switched resorts this year after my initial booking - had no problem getting a fd room again changing it in June.

So much number crunching! And so frustrated because it's all based on "what if".

What if there is NO discount?
We stay at Pop and we get YES tickets or Home School tickets (if we can change our vacation to home school week, which would be a dream come true for us).

What if there is a 20% off discount?
We stay at POR and we get YES tickets.

What if there is Free Dining?
The price difference between Pop and POR would be about $400 for 8 days so I'm not really sure if I would pay it UNLESS it was like 2010, when by staying at a Mod, we got regular DDP. It was the same price to do POFQ as it was to do Pop and upgrade from QS to regular DDP. So obviously we did POFQ!

We really prefer POR. Really, really, really prefer POR. We like how calm and relaxing it is after being in the parks all day. It's so opposite of the busy, busy, busy of touring and we look forward to getting back to the hotel at night. I've never stayed at Pop, and I'm nervous about how it is so colorful and bright and busy feeling. It's FUN and it's not that I don't like it. I think it's a pretty cool resort. But I just really enjoy the idea of coming back to a calm and peaceful place, ya know?

But I also have two non-Disney vacations planned for 2012 (New England to visit family... while there we have day trips to Boston, NYC, Newport and Patriots Place/Gillette Stadium planned; the second is a week long camping trip/family reunion... it's a nicer campground so it's not the cheapest trip. In fact, I looked it up and the nightly rates are higher than Fort Wilderness, which is crazy to me). That means my Disney vacation budget is limited. Every dollar I spend at Disney is a dollar I can't spend on the other trips.

So I'm left debating whether or not the price difference is worth it or not in light of the rest of my plans for the year. And really, it's a waste of time debating because unless the offer IS free dining, it doesn't matter. If we can get a % discount, we're going with POR. Can it just be March 1 already???? I'm tired of going crazy.

I do think fd is coming but am so curious to see if it will include the regular ddp for moderate hotels or just the quick service. If it includes only the quick service, it will cost us an extra $45/day or $360/for our 8 nights to upgrade to the regular ddp. We currently have a dolphin ressie and are paying around $170/night (includes tax and resort fee), so I am not sure where we will end up staying. If the fd includes the regular ddp, I will probably switch to CSR. These are some tough decisions, but we LOVE the ddp, sitting down for that nice TS dinner is always so enjoyable.

You sound like me. Dh & I are constantly discussing the "what if's" But we are even considering an off-site stay if the discounts aren't good enough for Disney.

Just curious what Home school tickets are? We were considering the YES program but we are home schoolers also and have a flexible schedule.

Agree. We know a family who goes in September every year and gets free dining and they don't book until a couple months out. Last year they went end of Sept. and booked beginning of August. My dh talked to a TA at Small World Vacations and told her we were wanting to go in Sept and get free dining and she said we could easily book that in July. Now, if you are just super excited to go ahead and book, I can totally understand that

Just got off the phone with Disney, my reservation is book for 9/10-9/20 at All star movies with tickets. I asked lot of question about Dining plan since this is my first trip. She said: "As soon as FD become available, call back and we will add it to your reservation" I am assuming there is one coming. lolz... but i am excited

I booked a couple of weeks ago for 6 nights at POR in a Standard view room for September using a 20% off room only pin. I just got our reservations changed this evening because I received another pin code that gave us a Royal Guest Room for LESS than our current package rate!

If Free Dining does come out for September, I'd be torn on what to do! If to get it means I'd have to give up a Royal Guest Room, would I? We're currently saving $450 off regular rates for the new RGR, how much could FD save us?

I know everything at this point is speculation... but I've never gone during a free dining promotion so I have a few questions while we twiddle our thumbs waiting for Disney to release something!

What dining plan is typically associated with the Deluxe resorts? We're looking at the Poly (swoon!) and the deluxe dining plan (remind me to pack only clothes with elastic waistbands )

How insane are the restaurants during this time? I feel like I hear horror stories about how free dining offers "ruin" eating at WDW! yikes!

And finally, can they just hurry up and release the new offer already?! hahaha

Usually Free Dining for deluxe is just the regular dining plan, but you can pay the difference and upgrade to Deluxe.

We've never done free dining or been during a free dining time frame, so I can't help on the other part.

Sadly I want a % off (preferably 35% or above, but I know I could be dreaming) so we can book our WL stay.

Just a heads up - the call center is down for reservations and account lookup until after 1pm eastern time.

I just tried to call and got an automated message. But there are agents able to help with non reservation/ticket/account matters

looks like I'll be waiting until tomorrow to check for a pin code now!

the closer we get to March the more excited i get! i just want to see what the next wave of discounts will be! i want a good room only discount or, stay and play....i could take or leave free dining
