September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Garden grocer of Wegoshop for Beer ? My dh likes his beverages on vacation but we hate paying Disney prices for them. We don't really need anything besides the alcohol and maybe milk and diapers. My yougest still can't go threw the night. Garden grocer has a 40.00 minium before you get to add alcohol. We don't really need any food we will have plenty on the plan.

Should I just send dh in a taxi to go fetch it?

I think a taxi ride might cost more than it's worth to just pay a delivery fee. I've only used Garden Grocer, but a few people on here highly recommended Wegoshop, so that might be the way to go for you if you are mainly wanting alcohol. popcorn::

for beer there is a Hess gas station that is I believe near the Grand Floridian on property that sells beer, for normal retail!!! My DH paid about $13 for a case of Miller Lite which wasn't too bad I don't think....

We are going to get some beer at some point and are going with WegoShop or Beerrun.biz because we really only need drinks and maybe some juice...don't have enough to meet the gardengrocer minimum...and don't really want to take the time out of our trip to run to the store or Hess in a cab! Disney time is valuable!!

Warning... long post ahead!

I've been planning our first Disney trip since last summer and now our plans may be going up in smoke! :sad1:

You're in my thoughts and prayers,,,that would be my absolute worst nightmare! Please take some action as suggested by other posters by putting in a claim with ebay or your cc and let us know what happens!

I would do what other PP said. Put in claims with CC or whatever else you paid with. Unfourtnaly paypal only has a small window. But at least if you get that money back you can upgrade resorts.

Yeah for that!!!

Well we still are on the fence about the upgrade. Dh who has expressed no intrest said to me a couple of things that make sensse.

We are getting a fridge and we are paying for 2 ts meals op. So we need to deducted those from the cost 320.00. But I said we are lossing mugs and snacks which we use for breakfest for the girls. We are palnning on using GG now so we could skip the mugs and get beverges from GG and some breakfest items for the girls.

Then he tells me he really wants to do the fantasmic package. Well those are long gone by now. So that isn't happening. I will keep checking in case somone cancles.

Then I have the point well eating at Ts meals takes alot of time. He says make early adr's and then we don't have to wait in line for characters so we will be saving time anyway. He has great points don't he!

So I guess I'm going to upgrade and sugestion on what to go with CBR for the pool for my kids or POFQ for the queen beds?

So someone just slap me and tell me to do it. I guess 750.00 to upgrade seems like alot. But if you deduct the fridge and dining upgrade it is only 430.00 for 10 days.

Kelly I know you chose the upgrade so Make sure you budget for tips for your meals!!

This by far has been the worst week. Havent been around much because DS (who is only 20months old) managed to grab my teacup off the counter and spill it on himself. Needless to say he got burned, really badly, and we had to spend 4 nights in the hospitals burn center. He only burned the top part of one side of his chest, under his armpit where he reached up and a spot on his chin but even though its a small area, since hes so young its a big deal. I've been a mess, DS though has been acting fine since it happened.. you would never know. I however am not doing as well, and feel like the worst mother alive :confused3 I am now so determined to make sure this upcoming vacation is amazing for DS because he deserves it after this. Please keep him in your prayers for a super fast recovery! They said in a month the burns wont even be noticeable anymore and youll never be able to tell by looking at him that this happened... but a month seems forever away right now. As a mom, this is the worst feeling in the world seeing him like this. :sad2:

I am so sorry! The mom guilt is the worst, it was just an accident, and you know that, but we all beat ourselves up for those accidents. That month should be perfect for him to finish healing physically and for you to heal emotionally.

Oh my gosh, I'm such a loser!!!!

I haven't been on the boards much, but when I am, I check my subscribed threads list and hadn't seen any updates. I thought you guys all just stopped talking!!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I should have known better!

So now I've got to go back and read 26 pages of chatter to catch up. Hope you all are doing well!

Our next planning steps are to purchase our annual passes and get our MNSSHP tickets. We haven't decided yet if we are going to get the regular annual passes or go for the premium. DH wants to hit the water parks this trip, but I'm not sure if we will use the water parks portion on any other trips in the next year. Our next trip after September is in January and my butt is not getting into any pools in January!

Oh, poor little guy!!! I completely understand how you feel, but don't beat yourself up about it! It happens and he will never remember it, trust me!

We went to The Melting Pot with family when my DD was 18 months old. We had finished the dinner part and we were waiting for the dessert part. I had DD on my lap and I was talking. Before I knew what had happened, she screamed. I looked down and realized that she had put her hand on the hot pad that they put the pots on (which was still burning hot).

Her whole hand was blistered up and bright red. We got her to the emergency room and they gave us some stuff to put on it. Her hand looked terrible for quite a while, but now, she just turned 2 and you can't tell that she was burned. And she doesn't remember a thing!

Keep your head up! You are a good mom! Accidents happen!

Hugs to you!

This year Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating its milestone 40th anniversary. On October 1, 1971 the resort in Florida opened to 10,000 visitors, 2 hotels, the Contemporary Resort and the Polynesian Village Resort, and the Magic Kingdom park consisting of Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, Main Street USA, and about 5,500 Cast Members. The cost of admission was $4.95!

Thank you again for all the kind words! I hate hearing these stories knowing all of you guys have experianced what I am feeling, however it is reassuring knowing that we are all human! Hes my first so Im new to all of this and I am sure this wont be the last accident (although I am wishing it will be :)) Everyday his burns look better and better! I didnt want to wish the summer away, but I am def. wishing May away, hoping for June to come quickly with a healed up baby boy!

In Disney-vacation news, I've still been unable to replace the breakfast reservation I had from a 3 to a 6, hoping for a little Pixie Dust. We made one at Ohanas for breakfast so we will at least have something, but I would really love to move my Chef Mickeys dinner to a breakfast.

Rotten morning. Today was a hustle to get George dropped off for a bath (I can't lift his German Shepherd butt into the tub so it's worth $30 for someone else to bath him and he is stinky today!

Then I had to drop dd and ds off at school and daycare. DD was good, but DS had a *melt*down* in the parking lot and kept sobbing, "you don't *have* to go to work today, mommy". :headache: I adore him but he is a master at puppy dog looks and trying to make me do it his way. I had to leave and I was late for work.

Then, I got some icing for my cake. I work in a small office (10 of us) which is a non profit state association for community action agencies...i.e. anti-poverty programs. One of my co-workers is leaving to go work for a non profit in Haiti that helps mothers and infants.

It is a great opportunity for her and it's something she's very passionate about, but I burst into tears like an idiot.:sad2: I'm happy for her, and miserable that in 3 weeks she will be living in the Caribbean and out of touch with us. I feel like a complete dork for being the only staff member to cry when everyone else is so happy for her. I actually am happy too and in her place, I'd do exactly what she's doing...but she's my counterbalance in the association and our skills mesh so well that I just can't imagine having that relationship with anyone else.

I need a drink and it's not even noon yet.

*does a wave* Hello all! I'm starting to plan DF and I's honeymoon and we're hoping to be there September 28th-October 4th (pending if he gets leave approved). I was just in WDW a few days ago with my mom and DF hasn't been back since he visited me on my CP in 08. He's only been twice and it's not his favorite place (he does like Star Tours though, lol) but he knows I like it so, I am excited!

I'm also hoping we can go to MNSSHP! We've never been and we loved the Pirate and Princess Party back when they were still around.

Here is the baby doll top....it's longer but not quite long enough for a dress...I will pair black leggin capri's with it!

Didn't they on top of the admission cost use a ticket system... you had to use tickets to ride each ride!

I know we go to TL or BB every trip and it has to be at least 80 for me to get into the water. I'm always so cold. Dh laughed at me last year. IT was 90 all day by the time the sun went down for the parade it felt like 50. It was more like 78-83 but I was cold. I went and bought a sweatshirt.

We all have days like this. In fact today has been the first day that has sort of went smoothly since Monday for this house. I have actually got one bathroom almost cleaned a couple of loads of laundry ect. I haven't done laundry since Monday and it needs to be done. I don't do laundry on weeeknds.

I actually sat down last night and figured we didn't add that to the cost factor. Which isn't a huge amount. But my kids really really want to stay at pop again. So guess who I called again today. Three times in one week they are going to ban me. I'm done. We are staying put now.

It wasn't just my kids the more I thought about it I think I will miss it. I love pop for what ever reason way more than the other resorts we have stayed at. I didn't want to get to CBR and wish I was at pop. We also stayed with the QSDP it just suits us better. The more I thought of having to work around adr's it was making me . Last year doing the QSDP was the best for us we just seem to get more park time for us done. Plus my 3 year old can be moody if we wake her up if she falls asleep in the stroller.

Kelly,

I totally get this. We are doing sit down meals but only one per day and mostly buffet. You have to do what works for your crew!

We have 8 going, 1 toddler, one 8year old, my sister and her boyfriend (meat and potatoes only) my parents and me and DH who are omnivorous. I was worried about Quick service only because the choices seem fairly limited to fast food and the kiddos are weirdly picky. DD won't eat anything Mexican, DS won't eat pizza or hamburgers...so I felt like my kids would be eating chicken tenders all week! :rotfl:

At least with the buffet option there is a selection of fruit, soup, and a few other kid friendly foods that will offer a few options...and they also get to do QS to get their fill of chicken and french fries!

I know what you mean about cranky toddlers though! It can be a real challenge to keep everyone happy all the way through a meal!

I am with you on the toddlers and the meals! We are doing the sit down meals but I made sure they were all intertaining. Hopefully that will keep my 3 year old occupied.

FortheLoveofDCL, that baby doll is wonderful! (The shirt AND DD both qualify as baby dolls to me!) Does anyone else get the feeling we're probable to go through this entire thread as well before September? :rotfl2:

I agree! Super cute!

Thank you!! I still have to add the Minnie Mouse embroidery. I finished another one today. I have 2 more that I hope to finish tomorrow and then all I have left is 1. I am gonna ship 2 of them to Robin(disneydiva16) to see how they fit, then I will make Norma's(2pirates1princess) DD her's.

I have to find another pattern for shirts I was gonna make for Epcot. I also have 3 skirts and my purse to make.:scared1: And I start working next wk. Just seasonal but from now till Oct. Well it's 1am I better get to bed, I got caught up in sewing...night all!!

All I have to say is wow! You're going to keep yourself awfully busy for the next few months; September will be here before you know it! :yay: We've decided to add an additional night to our stay; I really want to be there for the 40th anniversary, so that's that. My countdown calendar is at 140 days; I'm getting ridiculously happy!
