Hey all, just wondering if anyone else was planning on taking a day and going to Islands of Adventure to spend a few hours with Harry Potter? The cab ride back and forth is horrendously expensive. ($40ish each way for a family of three.) I was thinking maybe we could set up a shuttle and split the cost if multiple families wanted to go? Just a thought, I thought we could all share the love and help each other out!

Hi im new to DIS and just read your post we will be at AKL from the 23 september till the 14 october and we will be doing Islands of Adventure we love the place ( not as much as Disney of course ) we plan on trying to stay at one of their hotels for the night when we take our 3 little ones as we would need 2 days but we ourselves ( hubby and I) are planning on going and doing a day with out them im not sure what your dates are but we would be happy to share a Taxi

Im going for my 2nd Anniversary we got married at the wedding pavillion ( amazing day) and we have 3 little boys and nanny coming with us i have to take Nanny as the boys would never let me leave her behind Her and my dad took me lotswhen i was a child and that started my crazed obsession one i had to carry on with my own little ones my hubby got hooked after our1st trip ( he never went as a child ) and was not all that thrilled when i suggested a trip .....Once there it all changed lol

We did the same thing, we're getting out tickets through ITT at the base and the military discount was better than the pin code I got. Did they push the dining package on you too? The second CM I spoke with was pretty relentless about pushing the deluxe dining on me with our room discount.

You guys are soooo lucky to get that much discount my hubby is in the RAF ( England) and Disney dont support us getting any discount whatso ever!!!!, which totally sucks considering in 2 yrs we will prob be posted out to the States, and even then customer services said we would still not qualifiy for any discount due to him being in the British armed forces and not the US. Now i love Disney so much so that i got married their 2 yrs ago ( my parents got me hooked by taking me as a child) coming from England and staying at AKL for the 1st time it had cost us over £11000 for 6 of us we did get free dining that was the reason we are staying at the AKL as you only get counter service with the others unless you upgrade ,we decided not to get the Savannah view as it would be an extra £2000 odd but we have put it aside in case the kidies really want it!
anyways if your around between the 23rd sep and the 14 october that when we are staying then maybe we will bump into each other

I read somewhere about the paint scraps people put on their bags to identify them as disboarders. Headed out to Home Depot and thought I'd pick some up. WHat was the color they use?

It will be hot and humid with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms every day. We were lucky last September as it only rained on our last night there. There is enough a/c that the heat hopefully won't bother you too much.

I believe it is called the Alien Green but it is the bright neon lime green! I grabbed lots of these, cut out the actual shape of the mickey head (because they are the paint color in a mickey head shape but against a ivory background). Then I put them back to back and laminate them. I use a mickey head grommet on it too then attach to my backpack/purse. Others put their names on them or other things.
