September 2010 Code Watch...

I was just over reading the FD thread on the restaurants boards (I think ) and someone posted some interesting info. They said that FD would be announced this Thursday; DV cardholders could start booking Mon (Apr 5th) and it would go to the GP Thurs (Apt 8th). I'm hoping this info is correct. I'm getting a little cranky waking up before 7am everyday!!! :rotfl:

Would they do that though? I don't recall them announcing it days in advance of actually being able to book...:confused3

That part did sound a bit odd. I don't think Disney has ever announced something a few days before it could be booked. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the DISer knows what she's talking about.

Free dining was announced:
3/26/09 (thurs) DV
3/30/09 (mon) GP
4/7/08 (mon) DV
4/10/08 (thur) GP
4/9/07 (mon) DV
4/12/07 (thurs) GP

So my personal guess is on 4/1 for DV. April fools day - funny Disney. Funny. And 4/5 for GP.

I am a newbie, so I am sorry if this is a silly question... but is there a reason why you need to check in at 7am?? It doesn't expire or run out after so many people sign up for free dining, right?

Yes it does. There are only a select number of rooms at each resort reserved for each promo and once they are booked, they are gone. So if you wait too long, you may not get the resort you want or even get the promo at all.

Take care!

Oh no!!! I had NO idea. I am so glad I asked. I guess I will be stalking the boards every morning too now. :thumbsup2

We have been booked for a couple months now, Sept 26th to Oct 4th at the CBR using a 30% off PIN. That will save us about $300. We are hoping that a gift card deal or free dining comes out.

Each resort does have a limited number of rooms they have allowed for FD. For our Sept. 2008 trip I didn't call to book until late May. There were plenty of rooms left but not at my first choice (POP). The All Stars were all available though. Unfortunatly we had to cancel that trip due to a lay off and didn't go last year either. Hoping to this year!

:rotfl:Me too!!! My house is a disaster....but I just can't peel myself away from the computer:surfweb::surfweb:Thank goodness this only happens once a year:lmao:

Thank you for admitting your house is a disaster too! The only clear path in my house leads to the computer! :goodvibes

I got a pin code!! One that I could use too. I think its been talked about on other threads, but it was from "Disney Destinations" that said "Monster Savings on a Disney Resort Stay." 40 percent off values, mods, deluxe, villas, and fort wilderness for these dates:

9/1–10/9/10 • 10/24–10/30/10 • 11/14–11/20/10
11/28–12/4/10 • 12/12–12/18/10

I had gotten price quotes for our trip with the AAA discount and free dining... and the free dining one was better by about 100 bucks. And now this discount saved us an additional 500 bucks!!! WOW! I'm so excited!!

I had done all the things people said to do last fall. Order the DVD and maps, check the website and get price quotes, etc but stopped doing it because I wasn't getting anything. Every few weeks I would check and get more price quotes with no result. Then randomly I got this deal!

No I wasn't! I just meant this code was the best discount I had gotten so far (even AAA and free dining).

And I agree that would be amazing!!

I have priced out our trip, 40% vs FD vs Kids Stay/Play Free. I thought the 40% would be best for us, but it turns out that the kids free one is, probably because we have four kids! Saves us about $850!

Where are you staying and how many people are in your party?
I got that same pin code, but we're staying at value, so free dining is still a way better offer for us.

We're staying for 8 days standard view at the Beach Club (our disneymoon trip! no kids!), tix with hoppers and basic dining plan. I got quotes for free dining (from a bounce back offer last year) and I got a quote with the AAA discount and the free dining was just a little cheaper. Then I got this email and forwarded to our AAA lady and she quoted us a price 500 bucks cheaper then we originally had. So she changed it for us! So easy, it was amazing! I wish more things in life were that easy.
