September 2010 Check-In

I am so jealous of those of you who are already in single digits. I am so ready to go already! 18 days for me.

Priority Seating reservations are all made - Arial's Grotto on the 16th for World of Colour and Blue Bayou on the 17th! :goodvibes

Only 11 more days till we arrive in California. I'm getting so excited!

28 days for me. But I just got a letter in the mail today for jury summons for one of the days we'll be on our trip! I really hope they let me postpone the jury duty until we get back. This is the first time I've ever gotten called for jury duty so I'm really stressed out about this.

Man, of all the luck! I hope it all works out. Everyone in my family got lucky and didn't even have to report in for their Jury Duty. I did however, and I even had to go back for a second day because I didn't get called up on the first day. Man was it boring. At least I got a nice little check out of it. I hope you'll be able to reschedule it. Call and ask as soon as you can ;) I know people wo have been able to reschedule due to a vacation so I hope you're able to!

It's not a problem to postpone your service week. They'll even usually ask you when (in the next few months) you want to be scheduled and you'll get a new jury summons for that time period.

I would call, I have little doubt they would tell you no. Thay probably will just call you for a later jury selection and you can have your trip as planned.

I hope you guys are right. I'm kind of stressed about it.

I'm kind of stressed about the whole jury duty thing, in general. I have no idea what it's like or what to expect. Dumb question, but will I be able to use the restroom whenever I want or no? (I have a tiny bladder!)

When I go, I assume they do the selection process first. Is that a long process? Like all day? If I don't get selected will I get to go straight home?

(Sorry, I know these aren't Disneyland questions.)

I am going to call about postponing on Monday. The thing I got said I have to put in a written request though so we'll see what they tell me.

I honestly don't remember if I used the bathroom or not when I went it, lol. All I remember was it was boring while we waited to see if we got called. I was lucky and knew someone who was there and so we spent most of the time talking while they called individuals up to the courtroom. The selection process all depends on how long it takes them to get the jury they want. Mine was all day and then many of us (myself included) had to come back in the next day because they hadn't filled all of the seats.

All I remember was that it was just boring, lol.

I am pretty sure you will be able to reschedule your jury duty. I've never heard of someone being denied if you have a planned vacation that you spent lots of money on! That would be crazy! I've only gone once and I was lucky. I basically sat in the waiting area for 3 hrs reading and then was told to leave, that they didn't need us anymore. And I got the whole day off work! No questioning, no jury selection, nothing. Hope you get as lucky as I was!

Could you leave the room to use the bathroom? (I know, I'm weird. LOL!)

Amy, I had jury duty shortly after the birth of my son. I waited all day to fill out some paperwork that would eventually lead to the selection process. I was being looked at for a long drawn out trial that would have lasted months. Thankfully, they accepted my excuse that I was breastfeeding a young infant and I didn't have to go back for the actual selection or subsequent trial. When I went you were allowed to go to the bathroom, but they only let certain groups go at a time. You couldn't just go whenever you wanted. Funny story... since I was still nursing I had to pump while I was in the bathroom.... I walked out of the bathroom and started heading back into the waiting room when a kind lady told me to look down... I had left my blouse up and was flashing everyone my nursing bra! I'm just glad someone pointed it out before I walked back into the room.

woo hooo- this time next week we will be on our flight from Australia to LA-I just booked a stretch limo tranfer from LAX to Hojos as a suprise for my hubbie and kids!!

So so excited- after 3 days at Disneyland we are off to UK to see our families and friends for the first time in 5 years- I have had 2 kids in that time so its the first time they will meet their grandparents!

PS booked for Carnation Cafe for lunch and Minnies Breakfast and Fantasmic Deert package

Cant wait to see the look on my nearly 3 years olds face when he sees the Castle and I really hope he gets to see Ariel and Belle as he is princess mad at the moment- lol !

Nat xx

Hooray! I called this morning and the woman on the phone said vacation is a valid reason. I filled out the postponement request online and permission was granted! My new date is March. So now I can enjoy the next 26 days! :cool1:

5 more sleeps!

And just a reminder...

If you are going to be in DL on Saturday, Sept. 4th we have a meet up going on at 4:30pm at Gibson Girl Ice Cream. :thumbsup2

I would but I'm not going to be there. We leave on the 19th. I won't be there for the earlier meet up either. :sad2:

Shame! Maybe you can see if anybody will be there the same time as you and would be interested?
