September 2010 Check-In

OK, so the HOJO finally updated their message board to reflect the ET/AP dates that I had posted earlier after calling! Yay. But it's still missing me by like 1 day!!

Well, I think the 17th and 18th will be more crowded than earlier that week simply because they're a Friday and Saturday--but overall my guess is that it still won't be very crowded. Halloween really won't be in FULL swing from everything I've read.

I saw the calendar and the 18th is blocked.. so maybe Saturday won't be so bad after all!! (crossing fingers), but I guess I still want to be ready for the worst! :wizard:

Interesting to see they are showing no WoC for the weekend of 9/10-9/12. I'm guessing (hoping) that will change since I wanted to catch it on 9/10. It seems like there would be demand for at least one show on the weekends in September....

:confused3

Notice that DCA is open extended hours on 9/10 and 9/11 (10:00pm closing). They must intend to run WOC, otherwise they wouldn't have the late closing...right? Perhaps they're just waiting to announce WOC after they decide how many shows to run each night. :confused3

I don't know about Aladdin. I'm trying to be hopeful...I know the showtimes were shifted because of WOC. Maybe they are waiting to announce showtime until after they decide about WOC.

I sort of feel like maybe their trying to avoid schedule changes, so they just release show info when it is really set. I mean, even the fireworks aren't on the schedule for the weekend. There are ALWAYS fireworks on the weekend. Maybe their debating which show???

What can I say- I'm trying to be an optimist here!

I love your thinking!:goodvibes You just might be right!

The thing about Aladdin to keep in mind is that there will be construction going on out in front of the theatre in the near future so they may not know yet how to schedule shows around it. I believe we will eventually see show times as we get closer to September since they made a big deal about extending Aladdin past August 15 when it was originally scheduled to go dark.

HOJO updated their ET/AP dates again. Sadly no new days in September. Still keeping my fingers crossed!

Yeah! Made my 11:30 lunch PS for Blue Bayou for Sept. 20th. I haven't been to Disneyland since 95' when I was 18 and that was just for a few short hours. Before that I was in the the 6th grade. I remember being a little kid going on POTC and passing by the people eating always hoping one day I could eat there. Now I get to!!!!

In about 13 days, my dates should start showing up on the calendar at Disneyland.com. Of course, I'm pretty sure park hours will be 10-6 (DCA) and 10-8 (DL) for the days we're there. But it would still be nice to seem them on the website. :)

Woohoo our week is starting to show up on the website! Nothing I didn't expect [hours, etc], but still!! We're getting closer!

I need to call and make PS soon!

Awesome!! I forgot that even if you aren't 60 days away, but you are 2 months away you can still call and make your PS! Here I was thinking I would have to wait until the weekend, but I should be able to call on Friday. I'll have to do it on my break at work, lol.

I can't wait until those dates start showing up. Here's to hoping we'll get a nice surprise and have even more hours than that. We'll see, we'll see.

Does anyone remember what days Chef Oscar has off? I want to be sure when we book in for Carnation Cafe that he is not on a day off. We got to meet him in March for the first time and it was such an awesome experience, he was soooo nice, and also gave us a hand signed recipe for his famous soup! :)

maybe that weekend will end up being slower:goodvibes

I still fully believe that WOC will be added at some point and details are still being worked out. Only time will tell.

Sadly, looks like we'll be wthout another ride:

Editor's Note 7/21: The rumors are true, and Alice in Wonderland has been shut down by Cal/OSHA. They finally called the park's bluff of working with Imagineering for years now to retrofit a hand railing system on to the outdoor vine portion of the track. None of the previous design proposals were liked by either the Imagineers or Disneyland's operations groups, in a joint attempt to try and maintain the aesthetics of this unique indoor/outdoor dark ride and Disneyland exclusive from 1958. But Cal/OSHA has no use for aesthetics or history, and they finally got tired of waiting for the park to do something about this blatant code violation. The ride has been shut down indefinitely while TDA scrambles to approve a plan to retrofit handrails on to the exterior ride track, and this unplanned closure will likely be measured in months ... - Al Lutz

Doesn't look promising that it will be back anytime soon.
