September 2010 Check-In

HI, have been lurking. Have finally booked HoJo's for September 16 - 29th. Can only find 26th at Entertainment rate. Is this correct?

many thanks

Bummer! :sad1:

Belle Ella - You can put me down for Sept 4-11 at Hojo. That is the plan for right now since they opened up entertainment rates for 4 of those 7 nights. I may change them though if they open up the rate for some nights later in the month. :goodvibes

Add me in for Sept 25 - 28th at the Paradise Pier. Going with a group of friends. Though we'll only be in the parks the 26th & 27th.

Everybody should be up :thumbsup2

It shows DCA closing at 6pm on the 7th, 8th, and 9th. I'm wondering if that means no WoC.

You never added me... we will be there celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on the 15-19th, and are staying at the Ramada Maingate. :)

:lmao: I totally didn't. And I totally put your screen name down for someone else because I was looking at both posts at once. Somehow I think you and Kayla's Mom are the same person :lmao:

It'll be fixed in a moment.

I'm assuming it does since it has the Aladdin schedule up. That should be the current entertainment times. And they can't show it that early anyway. I'm just hoping the weekends will be a different story.

Given all the APs that will want to see WOC this Fall, it surprises me a bit that there is no plan on having it happen during the week during offseason. Then again, DCA tends to be a ghost town during the offseasons so maybe they just don't want to deal with having it open late enough to support a WOC show during the week. Bummer for me since I will be at DL the week of Labor Day. Looks like I will need to do Fantasmic or WOC on Labor Day and do the other one on Friday, 9/10 (assuming WOC is happening that Friday of course). Ugh.

:rotfl: I didn't even notice you had me down for different dates. Thanks for fixing it.

My Disney visits will be on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th, just when the Halloween time begins, so no low crowds for me.. :sad1:
So I was really thinking in leaving WOC out of the equation, with 2 kids they might not see anything, and with all the crowds, well, maybe I should employ my time going to the Haunted Mansion and Space Mt at the time?? I know they're on the other park but maybe I'm lucky and everybody will want to be at WOC at the time!! What do you think?

Well, I think the 17th and 18th will be more crowded than earlier that week simply because they're a Friday and Saturday--but overall my guess is that it still won't be very crowded. Halloween really won't be in FULL swing from everything I've read.

My understanding is that the first week of HalloweeTime is crowded. It will be in full swing minus the MHP which doesn't start until October.

I had asked about the crowd levels for those dates and someone on this board pointed out that Halloween ride layovers will be open, BUT no Halloween Screams fireworks, TSMM will be shut down, and no Halloween Parties booked until later. They were of the impression that it wouldn't be very crowded. I don't even think (or know) if the park will have extended operating hours, I am thinking it may now. It can't possibly be more crowded than when we went in mid. Oct. last year, we swore never again in Oct.

Pretty sure that person was me. :) I do think it will be more crowded than the average weekend in September, but I think DLR will see the bigger crowds in October, and September's HalloweenTime crowds will still be managable.

I thought during the off season, the park opened at 9am. But it looks like it's going to be 10am. Is that normal? I don't have the greatest memory. Does anyone know where I could find historic park hours? I'm wondering how early it opened on our last trip (January 2009.)

We'll be there in September! 9/2 to 9/5 at GCV for the Half Marathon. This is a yearly trip we take WITHOUT our kids. :-)

Weekdays in the off season opening time is 10:00 in our experience. :goodvibes

Getting closer!!!

It looks like the schedule is up until the 10th!! We arrive the 12th, so I'm getting closer to see what the deal is for the week we are there. Guessing it will be pretty much like the weekdays before [minus labor day].
